It’s Day 2 Of The “Fujiwhara Effect”!!!
(Use the “Previous Topic” Button, upper screen-right, tool bar,
to go back to Yesterday’s Post for complete Reference.)

The Benefit You Get Today At Tremblant...

Miles ’n Miles of Snowy Smiles!

Above: Very Obvious Carving Grip and Performance sample.
You’ll have to look closely through the falling Snow,
but there’s no doubt, the Skier closest has an un-staged(#)
smile that only comes with the joy of the moment.
Otherwise, this is a typical sample of what you’ll see any
day, or in this case series of days, when the New
Snow comes in abundance. Conditions of Greatness
instantly accelerate for all Trail surfaces, especially
for Experts, where depths begin to accumulate to
significant degrees.
((#)we do not know this person, pic. is a random, un-staged
snap shot we took for conditions sampling. They skied
into the frame, but will probably never know this excellent
joy of the moment lives here.)

For Beginners and Intermediates, it is essential to remain
within Green and Blue Rated Trails and it is possible that
it may be necessary to even go down a level if you experience
any “Thickness” that make Control Movements for Steering,
Braking, and most critically, Stopping, difficult.

The likelihood is that the “Weather” will move across
the Mountain in bands of active Snowfall. The wind
direction is forecasted to be starting from the West.
That would have it rising up over Taschereau and moving
across the Summit towards the Ski Patrol HQ. Considering
the complexity in Regional weather factors created by
two revolving Low Pressure Storm Systems in the
“Fujiwhara Effect” phenomenon, it seems a bit surprising
to us that the Wind Speed Values are so low at an indicated
Sud, South, Resort Base level of between 4 to 9 KMPH.
Usually, complex storm systems have more vigorous
winds, but we’ll take this low wind with Snowfall any day,
just because there’s a HUGE benefit when low wind speed
allows snowfall to settle straight down onto Trail Surfaces
without being exposed to the force that could move it
into the bush if the velocity was higher.

Below: Riding up the Versant Nord, North, Duncan Quad, views to the
north over the Johannsen Peak and Edge Sector Peak are dappled with
sunlight peeking in between the passing low altitude snow cloud that can
be snowy one minute, then sun-splashed the next.

The middle and end portions of Open Hours are forecasted
to see a directional shift to Nor-West, rising up Beauvallon,
headed towards Lowell Thomas, but even then, the Wind Speed
is still projected to be under 10 KMPH, so all-in-all, it still
promises to be a very genteel day!

This one, Low Wind-Speed aspect of the weather mix today,
could actually turn out to be the biggest asset to Trail Snow
Accumulations. For example, we would prefer to have 15cm’s
fall in low or calm winds, as opposed to 20cm’s in more common
stormy high winds where large portions can get blown off
wide open Trail widths into the surrounding bush.

Regardless, with the Officially Recorded Snowfall of the
past days very well retained and integrated into Trails
with overnight Grooming cycles, and... such super-easy
temperatures just below Zero C that have so-far kept
it totally thermal-free, conditions should remain Very Fine
to Excellent over the entire array of Groomed Trail List.

In the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glade, Un-Groomed,
conditions have largely gotten better ever since the
big surprise Snowfall Dump of Feb. 28th, so all this
additional accumulation can only mean a steady increase
in the au Natural depths for today and reserves that
can extend their utility towards “Spring”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
