A Beautiful Winter Reset.
For A Ski Resort At The End Of March,
This Weather Is Excellent News...
3.27.22.Weather.Data.b.jpg
Weather Notes:
The potential here is that “Scattered Flurries” at ground
level, frequently means “A Big Bunch Of Snow Over
Mountain Elevations.” ( (#)Please Note the final paragraph
of our Conditions Notes.)
Conditions Notes:
There are 40 “Progressive”, i.e., gradual trail openings
this morning that are subject to Ski Patrol confirmations,
so you are going to want to talk to these folks, for sure...

The unique Tremblant Info.Ski Crews are the absolute most
valuable resource to all Tremblant guests when there are
so many potential variables in the mix of the days conditions. Period.
What Used To Be Soft Is Now Froze...
Grooming will have produced vast expanses of superb smoothness
and very capable high performance trail surfaces, initially most
prolific within Greens and Blues for the sake of those Beginners
and Intermediates who benefit from the most support, however...
If you are not attending with well tuned edges you are effectively
limiting your personal potential to a significant level downward.
No matter what skill level you are legitimately capable of, the only
things that permit you to transfer your control energy to the trail
surface are the edges of your skis or board. This is a critical point.
Otherwise...
Matching realistic skills and abilities with appropriate terrain
is another critical element of any optimized day on the slopes,
and even more-so today because of the dynamic of open trails
combined with weather. Essentially, the number of “Wild Card”
scenario’s are incalculable. It is of paramount importance that
you explore with both absolute speed caution, and on terrain
below your normal challenge level until you can verify safe
passage for your realistic skills.
It is distinctly possible that there may be real challenges within
any given terrain that may be above the posted Green/Blue/Black
Official designations.
There will be select zones of technical excellence within
the freshly groomed array over all skill levels, but you
may need to ultimately focus on selecting a narrower
range of terrain to concentrate on if you are not feeling
confident with wide ranging exploration. In other words,
if you’re finding it difficult on an overall basis for any reasons,
dial it back and stick within a smaller, safe comfort zone.
One thing we think for sure...
Within this temp range, any lingering sensations of drag from the
previous warm and damp induced friction levels should be long-gone,
so it will most likely be as fast as bullet.
What Used To Be Soft Is Now Froze...
Obviously, the Sous Bois/Hors Piste and Un-Groomed
are the group that has the most restriction this morning
but that is not because the snow has gone anywhere, it is
because what was soft for recent days is now froze, so
all we need to do is be patient until Mother Nature and
the Ski Patrol can agree to confirm safety. It is also possible
that with this many progressive openings, we may see
alterations to the final list available.
The best possible scenario for quick restoration on
any basis of either overall or specific, is more natural
snowfall, so the later day could see some very perceptible
improvements if, if, if, Mother Nature really turns on the
snow taps.
In an immediate sense, it could be argued that from
a technical point of refined “Post-Froze” event conditions
the real potential is “Tomorrow”. A second grooming
night-shift after a major freeze-up typically renders
dramatic results. A second day of accumulated snowfall(#)
typically renders dramatic improvements, so add those
2 things up, occurring simultaneously and you can see
where running away from home to get to Tremblant may
be a very wise way to escape to ski on Monday.
---------------- 11:46 A.M Insert Update: ---------------------
Please Note:
(a)Significant snow accumulation evident in tree boughs
is always a tell-tale of building quality on trail surfaces.
(b)Very desirable -5C temp spread between Base and
Summit levels. At the end of March, every moment of
sustained “winter” temps now equals an extension of
future high quality “spring” conditions.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
