October 2022 - FALL 2022, EDITORS UPDATE INSERT:

If you are here as part of a past season review
and you are looking forward to our next season...

We have added our Winter 2022/2023 Ski Season
Weather Forecast @ Link: https://tinyurl.com/3szy77h4

T360 Apres Ski Season, Closing Day Apres Ski,
Under Construct At 11:23 P.M.

At -4 C, things started out with a touch of winter-like cool, but...

Mother Nature Shifted Gears Into Full-On Spring Quicky Today....

The way you can tell there’s a seasonal change in the pic. above
is a slightly bluish/hazy tinge in the long distance colouration.

You might say “Spring Is In The Air”, to express the essence of
that. You can’t tell the exact temperature within this pic, but you
sure can see the effects of heat in the atmospheric tint, it just does
not have the dark blue sky intensity of the winter sun, it’s the
brighter, lighter, spring sun now.

We’ve had an extraordinary closing weekend, one of the best,
one of the most extensive degrees of coverage and one of the
most smooth, reliable, stable, bases we can ever remember
for this date.

From mild(above), to wild(below), the performance range was
totally complete across the entire selection of open terrain.

Backing up here for a moment...

If you scroll back up to the Sissy Schuss pic., besides the
fabulous snow conditions on the trail itself, look to the
trail-side sous bois/bush where you can see the obvious
snow white coverage which is virtually seamless, totally
complete, and at an unusual depth for April 18.

In that regard, here is our very last “Proof Of Snow”,
taken on this very last day of the season, to help
illustrate the “Unusual Depth” of natural snowpack.

T360 April 18, 2022 - Proof Of Snow.

2 Points On This:

#1)

On April 18, to be able to vertically plunge a ski into
snowpack anywhere within the Mountain footprint
and not hit ground underneath is an astounding
testament to the abundance of natural snow that
can be found, on the ground, right this second. (It is
not like this everywhere however, and the very lowest
Sud/South Base/Resort level zones that have been
exposed to warmer, wetter weather do not have the
same reserves.)

If anyone has doubts about why Tremblant360 uses
this Versant Nord/North Side Lowell Thomas sector
and the trails that it contains, as indicators of overall
Mountain conditions, they should be immediately be
satisfied with this legitimate, absolute, real, genuine,
authentic evidence. There is not one speck of blown
snow in this photograph, it is all, completely, totally,
au natural.

#2)

Sometimes Ski Resorts are accused of exaggerating their
snowfall accumulations, however in this case, even though
there has been measurable snowfall twice recently, including
the 5 or so hour heavy snowfall yesterday, the Official total
has not shown any increase from 551 cm's. We think there
are about 5 to 6 valid cm’s missing from the stat's total. What
you see above are skis/pole placed, set into the fresh snow
from yesterday.

This Is A Ski/Board Public Service Announcement:

No matter the season’s last day, first day, or any Open day between...

This is a prime example of the invaluable Mountain Intel ALL Tremblant
guests can benefit from on an up to the minute basis. If you have a
question that can’t be answered on the spot, a radio contact can
usually get you the info. you need within seconds.

“Radio Controlled” is a literally applied feature of the unique Tremblant
“Info.Ski” Crews in this pic.file, and it is the very essence of your optimized
experience, especially when the Open trail count or lift service is “Dynamic”,
i.e., subject to variable circumstances that can change utility/access.

In the specific case of today, there were simultaneous off-line issues
with the Lowell Thomas Quad and the TGV Quad for the day. While they
did not effect total Mountain vertical access, they did effect the way
guests could reach or use sectors within particularly the Haut/Upper
sectors of the complete vertical range as we then had to rely on the
Duncan Quad and the Gondola . Knowing this on a timely basis
as the result of a consult with the Info.Ski crews allowed us to work
with our group of friends for efficient photo shoot circulation. We
are intentionally featuring the Info.Ski benefit here because this
Closing Day post typically gets a large viewing, and we want to
underscore the benefits of using the Info.Ski ANY AND EVERY DAY of
the season. This applies to you, whenever you get here. Period.

In addition to the miles and miles, Km’s and Km’s of
the super smooth freshly groomed boulevards, one
of the major attractions for Expert spring skiing
enthusiasts is the soft snow moguls, and if you like
‘em big, there’s no better place than Versant Nord/North
Side Expo. When you can see the bottom of the slope
from between your ski tips standing on a mogul at the
top, you know you’ve got big pitch.

Perhaps the most concise summary would be that
as a seasons closing day, today was everything you
might hope for or dream about. Extraordinary coverage
but with the undeniable heat of spring that tells you
the natural progression towards the warm summer
sports is already well underway. A perfect way to
end ski season with the full understanding that
literally next weekend, it’s kayaking, mountain biking
hiking and golf... and a keen sense of appreciation for
the exceptional ski conditions right up to the very last run.

Our sincere thanks to the Mountain Op’s Group at Tremblant
for all-day, every day quality. They set the standard for excellence
not only in the historical sense of evolving seasons here, but within
the context of regional ski areas, they reliably keep Tremblant at the
top of the list as a desirable, satisfying, rewarding destination or focus
for a fulfilling ski holiday, as your choice for a seasons membership
pass, or just to be able to get out for a few days on the slopes to
remind yourself how much fun winter really can be.

Authentic, Genuine, “Winter” In April.

Unfortunately, only one day left to
enjoy it all on Closing Day Weekend...

We can not tell you why the snowfall accumulation
number has not gone up in the Official Trail Status
data below because we can tell you for a fact that
it should be a larger number. Basically, it snowed
heavily at Tremblant yesterday for almost 5 hours.

Being in the centre of a vigorous snowstorm
on April 17 generated a rather surreal feeling
of being time-shifted transported back to a
late February day, especially with a quite cool
wind and -5C all combining to render out a
very authentic, a very genuine, totally “winter”
experience.

There were places with wind shaped drifting of
close to 13/14 cm’s and we would certainly not
have any problem if the average was called at
anywhere between 4 to 8 cm’s as there were
places within favoured zones where there were
4 cm’s built up in an hour.

In-so-far-as a generalized conditions overview...
Some seasons closing days you have to write about
how to make the best of things, this season’s
closing days are the very best of things.

Back on January 29, 2022, we wrote:

“we are predicting the potential for one of the most durable,
high quality Spring Skiing seasonal periods in history.”

This is it, so we are happy to report we got that call right.
It has been an extraordinarily fine spring and we owe much
of it to the extended depths of a long winter that generated
a remarkably durable base combined with total seasons
accumulated snowfall at 30% above the 25 year average.

Weather Notes:

An almost, quite close to, nearly, perfect April
Spring Skiing/Boarding day profile, with all the
residual overtones of yesterdays “winter” to
add durability to the descent quality.

Conditions Notes:

The foundation for the base quality today is a Sub-Zero C
sustained temp at Mountain elevations that has been
a very effective stability reset. With the addition of a
groomed finish, the result yielded excellent performance
for a February day in April yesterday, and that should carry
over to first tracks for today.

We expect today to be an extension of the typical firm
to soft transition that is common with temp. oscillations
from below Zero C to above Zero C, but with the very
decidedly winter overtones of yesterdays fully chilled
surprise winter snowfall re-boot.

This pic below is from yesterday, mid-morning, just
before the snow began to fall. If you can take your eyes
off the beautiful trail conditions for a moment, just
look at the natural snowpack evident in the trail-side
bush. No one would doubt you if you said this pic was
from 6 weeks ago.

It is our forecast that you are going to find exactly what
you see above repeated throughout the groomed list
for today, but with the additional bonus of yesterdays
new snowfall, grooming-integrated into a warmer, softer,
spring base of amazing wall-to-wall, top-to-bottom
coverage that is literally one for the record books.

The Easter Bunny normally hides easter Eggs for kids to search for,
but this year there’s no need to search for great Easter skiing, it’s
right here at Tremblant in plain view.

Easter Weekend,
Holiday Monday,
Seasons Closing Day, Bottom Line:

If you could be here, but you miss it, you need to have your head eggzamined...
