14(*) Open Trails On Versant Sud/South Side And Versant Nord/North Side At #Tremblant .
Fabulous Fall With Early Winter Overtones.
A Specific Reference To Set The Stage For The Current
Performance And The Weather Following.

The massive effort of Tremblant Mountain Op’s has
generated a near-record Opening Day amount of
highly refined terrain, thanks in large part to a
synergistic contribution of Mother Nature that
provided roughly 10 days of very early sub-zero C
temps and nearly 50 cm’s of natural snowfall, however...
It is still technically “Fall”, for another 3 weeks and
as common for late November, there can be up’s/downs
in both temp’s and precip. characteristics, so we’ll
need to be ready for that.
Weather Notes:
It’s still “Fall” and while there have been very “Wintery” overtones
for almost 2 weeks now, these types of oscillations are normal,
common, and thankfully, still have daily sub-zero C overnights
to maintain base stability.
In a direct mechanical way, and notwithstanding the obvious
differences in retained snowfall accumulations, both ends of
the ski season, i.e., Fall and Spring, have similar daily temp.
profiles that we have to adapt to.
What’s Going On With The Weather?
Please Note: The date span of the forecast graphics below extends to
December 2, 2022, so when you look back up to the 11/30/22 excerpt
from the 14 day long range, you can see that currently, the forecast
is calling for the warm side potential to be dominant. That specific
days profile is very likely to change, hopefully down in temps.
What we will always point out in these exact forecast conditions
is that with a daily high temp at Sud/South Resort at a daytime
high of +3 C, the commonly lower by -4C at elevations could
very easily produce snowfall over the trail network.
The ability of Mother Nature to produce snowfall throughout
this Fall cycle over the Mountain is further enhanced by the
fact that much of the snow is formed in the atmosphere way
up above the peak where it can be a lot colder yet. We have
observed snow over the Mountain when the Sud/South base
level temps are any single digit “plus” values, i.e. up to 9C.
Yesterdays fantastic start is the basis of todays stability
that can very easily withstand the normal late Fall daily
temp. and precip. variations, and, withstand those
oscillations for the following days of the current forecast.

Conditions Notes:
Spring-like, semi-thermal soft snow that may have
some initial icy bits from sub-zero C’s overnight.
There could be a fair degree of variation from top
to bottom, but obviously with base level temp’s up
to +5C, most of the softness will be at mid to lower
elevations.
Traction and performance should be excellent as things
always seem to improve over the startup sequence due
to traffic break-in that helps render out some of the
granularity of the blown snow in the foundation. In that
regard, where there may have been some very little
chunky bits yesterday, those should all be quite close
to disappeared today.
Why we think the speed will be good is that the last 10
days of solidly -4C, -7C, -9C etc. etc., is well established
within the base and that will be easily able to withstand
brief low digit “+” temps now, not to mention the future,
with the additional support of overnight sub-zero’s.
Sharp Edges Caveat:
Anytime the daily temp cycle cross over Zero C,
especially overnights, icy bits can occur and you
want to come prepared in order to optimize your
days on the slopes. Get that done... now.

Page under gradual construction, please periodically refresh.
We are still sorting out start-up logistical items which we
hope to have results for, within hours, but in the mean-time
our reporting is reduced to primary trail status and weather
data. We are working on ASAP basis solutions.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
