Building, Building, Building...

and in this case, we’d also have to say, getting the
puzzle pieces in place in order to take advantage of
the natural snowfall forecast in the approaching storm
system that arrives tomorrow.

If you think it looks like winter now,
just wait ’til tomorrow...

Weather Notes:

The first winter snow storm of the season is on the way.

The amounts or the shapes of the accumulations
are not completely predictable due to the kinds
of wind velocity and directional variations that
do occur, however there’s a really good chance
for some major, early season, game changing
snowfall that could immediately accelerate
trail opening development.

Conditions Notes:

We would call almost all very early season days to be
“Fitness Lapping” days just because the open terrain
is limited and without the variety that comes with the
maturing season, developing personal fitness levels
is a legitimate exercise for anyone with the privileges
of looking forward to a whole season enjoys. The
main example of the beneficiaries of that line of
thought could be seasons pass holders.

Early season days are vital for this sample group to
re-awake muscles that have been dormant(#) over the
long hot summer, as well as to build stamina for
the days approaching where the trail array rapidly
expands.

(#) You might think that a summer of biking, trail
running or swimming might keep you in shape for
skiing, however no matter what you do in the
off-season, it may be able to help with cardio
capacity, but it can never replicate the exact muscle
demands of actual skiing.

No one would blink and eye if you said you were
going to the gym for a few hours to do reps and
we think that could be a similar way to look at
the value of doing ski/board specific training
on the currently available slopes.

We think it is a valid concept to consider
Tremblant in early season as your winter gym
and focus on the value of repetitions for
elevating your fitness and finesse.

For all those at home who can’t be here... squats,
shoulder presses, bench presses and arm curls
at the gym, in your basement, or anywhere else
you can. Do high reps and go for endurance
over outright weight. When you get here, you’ll
be far better off with even a modest prep. that
helps build both muscle and wind power.

Archival Copy Of Official DAILY MESSAGE

Bonjour Tremblant! As you may have noticed, the
unpredictable weather had an impact on our
operations. The mild temperatures in recent weeks
have meant fewer opportunities to run our snowmaking
systems. However, our team is always on the lookout
for every chance to create the perfect conditions for you.
Although most of our open terrain is classified as beginner,
please consider it suitable for intermediate and advanced
skiers and snowboarders due to the crowding on the
limited terrain. Plan ahead for the end of your day on the
slopes, as the return to the South base will also need to
be done by gondola.

The forecast is promising, allowing us to plan for the opening
of more skiable slopes and lifts in the near future. Several
areas of the mountain are undergoing gradual snowmaking,
taking into account the needs for our upcoming event:
the 24h Tremblant from December 13-15.
