Yup, it’s really freakin’ Kkkkkool today, and
it’s been like this for a couple of days now,
a feature highlighted by windchill generated
by both actual wind speed and relative wind
speed as a result of descent speeds into
headwinds. More on all that below, but in
the meantime...

Attention Holiday Guests:

All You Need To Do Is Ask.

The Christmas/New Years Holiday period is filled with
newcomers enjoying the White Christmas Spirit at Tremblant!
For for anyone in that group focused on optimizing their
days on the slopes, the single most valuable resource that is
literally right in front of you on the Mountain before every
descent, is the unique Info.Ski Crew that have their operational
H/Q at the Summit Gondola Offload zone.

Their sole and dedicated purpose is to help YOU have
a great day. Decades of local experience are only a few feet
away, and because they are “Radio Controlled”, not only
do they have the very latest trail status updates, but if you
have a question that can’t be answered on the spot, they
will radio for the info. you need right now.

Weather Notes:

Watch out for this one... How many layers you got?

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Very fine to excellent clinical/technical ski conditions
across all freshly groomed, however.... the obvious
challenge, at least to begin with, is going to be a
sufficient thermal retention system in order to stay
warm enough to safely enjoy. In other words... layers.

Adventures In Cold...

In 9.9 cases out of 10, the wind at the Summit is greater
than base ground levels. At these temp’s it’ll feel like
it has sharper teeth than a Great White Shark if you
don’t have every layer with perfect seals and overlaps
tightly secure, before you go out the door. Leave
nothing to chance before you exit warm. Even a few
seconds of any open crack or thermal gap can strip
heat faster than a starving monkey can peel a banana.

If we had the choice, we would defer taking little kids
out until later. You’re looking at initial windchill values
that may reach down around -28 C, so it’s imperative
to be very cautiously safe.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

"Just wait until tomorrow”, literally. Monday night’s
snowfall forecast is the best shot at maybe seeing
reopen’s in this category. There’s no snowmaking
in these ones so all we can do is sit back and watch
for Mother Nature to start filling in some space.

In the meantime, “LTE” is open under the lower
potion of the Nord/North Lowell Thomas Quad
but by now it will be showing wear and you’ll
need to be a legitimate Expert using extremely
careful, low speed, line-of-sight VFR.

they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
