REOPEN Versant Nord/North Side Sous Bois
mogul zones Marie-Claude Asselin, Banzai
and Le Tunnel.

Snowmaking back on at Jasey-Jay Anderson.

Weather Notes:

Cool again, but todays temp trend will head upward
to feel a lot warmer, at least in a relative sense.

Big new snowfall tonight? Could be by the forecast.

The Summit has it’s own micro weather system going
on as snowmaking on upper McCulloch/Kandahar generates
a cloud effect moving across the top that looks like this. If you
want to see that at night, take a look at yesterdays Apres Ski
update and there’s a Web Cam shot across the Summit plateau
that shows the same thing in relief.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Another day, another notch upwards in refined, durable
quality, all of which is brought to you by a string of consecutive
cool days that always respond positively to repeated
grooming cycles, especially when the traffic has not been
high enough to exhibit excessive wear. That is not to say
that everything is always perfect. There may be slick or
icy bits, there have been some reported washboard zones,
but compared to the vast square area of very fine early
season surfaces, the glitches are relatively minor and
within normal ranges of evolving daily conditions that
are typically limited to trail convergences, intersections,
run-outs etc., where narrow or close dimensions can cause
crowding.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Good reopening news with upper Nord/North, Lowell
Thomas sector Marie-Claude Asselin/Banzai/Le Tunnel
all becoming available again. The big news in this group
is Nord/North Trail # 80, Windigo, off the Expo Quad peak
is really the first Official Glade open. This is a huge local
favourite so you can expect very quickly evolving bumps
in the trees here. We think there’s also potential with the
snowfall forecast for tonight, however it’s way too early
to know whether it would be for more opening terrain,
or just a refresher for the existing. Time will tell.
