We'll have a more in-depth Apres Ski later on, hopefully by
9:00 P.M., but exceptional surfaces for all skill levels, so if you
can make it for tomorrow get out your layers one more time
...and don't forget to plug the Block Heater in on the car,
it's gonna be nippy again tonight.

From "Last Run" Yesterday Afternoon.
(If the pic's from the last couple of days look grainy, part of that is due to the
sheer volume of snow in the air which make panoramic photo's a challenge.)

This might be your first clue that you're on the right track for some
really good Drift Busting as you get to the Summit on the TGV Quad.

The "Official" Snowfall Statistical Record for yesterday
may show 20 Cm, but we can tell you for a fact, that
there's a lot more than that on many of Tremblant's Trails
due to the wind induced "Drifting" factor.

You need to go and find them!

Mission... Possible!

If Tom Cruise was here, we think he'd agree, this is not only
"Mission Possible", it's "Mission Easy", at least as long as you're
dressed appropriately for -22 C, or -8 below zero, F.

O.K., so it's a wee bit nippy out there, dress for it and enjoy
because the Skiing and Boarding are going to be out of this
world!

We Love Our Snow "Squeaky"! Cold fallen snow develops a
unique mechanical bond with itself as it accumulates. There
is little to none of the adhesive type bonding that occurs when
the temps are higher, along with moisture content that can make
warmer snow "sticky".

"Squeaky" dry cold Snow Skis and Boards like a dream because
there is so little resistance as you pass over Groomed or through
Natural amounts of it.

On the Groomed, you'll find incredible traction and grip. You will be
able to set your edges into turn after turn with the control of a surgeon
using a sharp scalpel!

In the Un-Groomed, you'll find pockets of deep drifted snow that will
explode on contact around your feet and knees when you blast through!

"Explode On Contact When You Blast Through?"

You Bet!...

Mission... Possible!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If You  "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Apres Ski, Prime Time Weekend Report...

"The First Day After The Big Snow Storm."

Weeks like we've just had, help to define each season...
and in this case, in the best way possible.

In Case you missed the news...
This week has been an...

"Extended Cold Period, With Abundant Natural Snow"

Scroll back through this week by using our "Date Index" Link in this forum report
to see how it's all come together, day by day, if you are so inclined.

The net result is that we've gotten and kept "Officially" 54 Cm, or 21 Inches
of New, Fresh Snow in the last 7 days, a bit less than half of that in the last
24 hours.

That's a great Snow Week, and a great way to help consolidate and define
this very nicely maturing Alpine Snow Season of '11/2012.

Today's brilliant sunshine and far off famous views were
a fine recipe for the icing on the cake of a very fine snow week.

As long as you were within your Skill sets and the appropriate
rated terrain, you could not make a bad decision. Everything that was
open that we could get to was very close to ideal.

We Found New Ways To Like White...

Maybe you Like Your White Trees Like This....

As the brilliant sunlight was diffused in the trees with
their frosted coatings of snow, the contrast in both
light and shadow was captivating. There were people
standing quietly trail-side taking pictures everywhere.

Rope Tow was open, and while it was good, there
was a very firm base that was resistant to edging.
We find it interesting that the Lowell Thomas trail
that has a slightly different orientation to the wind,
but is so close, had such a positively different feel
of grip at speed. You could find this type of proximity
differential on all sides of the Mountain, just the way
the wind blew...

North, South, Edge, Soleil.... It was all as good as the samples
we've shown. There was a colourful crowd out, fairly light,
practically "walk on" lift access, superbly groomed as well as
beautifully natural terrain with literally something for everyone.

Cold again tonight, a few cooler than last night, but with a ton 'o sun
tomorrow, it should be very close to a repeat of today. Up to -18 C
after lunch.

There was enough thermal energy in the direct sunlight today, that while
working on Nature Photography on quiet, wind free trail-sides, at one point,
had gloves off playing with camera gear for about 6, 7 minutes and was
beginning to feel warm. Amazingly beautiful day....
