It's not super fancy, or exotic photography, but...
This is just about our most favourite thing to see
before we head off to the Mountain for the day...

You get a little farther down, and if there's some Sun, like
yesterday, turning back to look the way you came, you'll
see this.....

Wishful Thinking...

Some of our best friends are Snowboarders. We have no idea why
someone doesn't invent a quick attach/detach snap-in binding for
Boarders... sitting down, getting' a wet butt, or standing if they can,
takes a ton of time that over a day can add up to several runs.
Some one out there in Engineering World, please help our Board
Friends with this issue...

If you enjoy exploring Tremblant as much as we do, you'll
know the exquisite and very private joy that skiing into this
scene today will bring. Oh yeah, we like Sunny days just as
much as the next person, but the Pure Winter Snowy Days
are truly special because they have an ambience of intimacy
with Mother Nature that comes from being encased in her
soft quiet small spaces like this one today.

Weather....

Super easy -5 C, overcast snowy, but a bit of a wind...
That pesky wind will be coming up Soleil,
so it should be at your back riding up either
Soleil or the TGV.
The North will be sheltered below the summit,
but at these speeds, there could be some swirling
almost anywhere.

We Love our Tremblant Winter.

The Big Picture About The Open Trail and Snowfall Statistics
Numbers At Tremblant For The '11/2012 Season.

3 Year Tremblant Comparison Stat's
January 29th, 2010: 81 Open Trails on 162 CM YTD(*)
January 29th, 2011: 90 Open Trails on 165 CM YTD(*)
January 29th, 2012: 92 Open Trails on 235 CM YTD(*)
(*)Year To Date

Basically, we've got about 70 CM, or almost
28 inches more snow than we've had on the same
date for the past two seasons as a direct depth
comparison.

We have also had less "Thermal" or "Rain" events, "Thermal" being
defined as above freezing temperatures, so retention has been better.

Obviously, visiting Tremblant this season is going to reward guests
with the quality that comes from a substantially deeper Natural Snow
Base than the 2 years prior.

The surprising thing is that those two preceding seasons were great seasons
anyway due to the outstanding efforts and talent of the Tremblant Mountain
Operations Crews, who made them that way by optimizing the resources they
had to work with.

That can only mean one thing.... apply the same talent and effort, but to the
far larger amount of Natural Snow we have this season, and you're left with the
only logical conclusion...

This Is A Great Year To Be At Tremblant!

Need More "Proof"?

The above pic is important for an additional reason beyond the
abundant snow, the beautiful Tremblant views, and the super
high quality Snow Surfaces for excellent Skiing and Boarding,
as it shows Snow Shoe Trekkers making their way to the Summit.

We tend to think of Tremblant as only for Alpine Downhill Skiing
or Snowboarding, maybe a bit of cross country, but this pic. reminds
us that Tremblant has a whole range of different activities that mean
real, possible options for just about any visitor. You don't need to be
exclusively a Skier or Boarder to find things to participate in, and at
a vigorous level too. Snow Shoeing UP Tremblant's slopes to the Summit
HAS to be great exercise!

Back to Alpine Snow Sports...

Cruising On Nansen Makes You Look Good!

The quantity and quality of the Tremblant snow and surfaces are
the kind of Alpine Terrain that makes you look good, regardless of skill
level. This is particularly important for Beginners and Intermediates
who really rely on consistent surface quality to make technique
progress without having to be worried or distracted by undo glitches.
Cruising on Nansen, as close to perfect as you can come to in a 6.2
kilometre trail, allows you to establish a sustainable rhythm that will
advance your skill sets at light speed compared to the short up/down
cycles of smaller Alpine centres.

Typically immaculate grooming on Nansen create
ideal Alpine learning surfaces.
