Preliminary T360 Apres Ski.... @ 5:45 P.M.
It was really freekin' foggy at the Summit and ya' could tell
on the way up....

Riding up the Gondola, it became immediately apparent as soon as you
crested the South Base Cliff, that the Summit was "Lost In Space"
Nada, nuttin' not even a ghost of the Summit was visible.
The darkness of the cloud was mildly dramatic due to the rather more
sunny ambience of the Resort Base.
The Skiing is Fast...
There are some icy patches, more so on the South.
The flat light was not ideal for photography, but non-the-less,
the grey light creates it's own sort of monochromatic, very low contrast
unique optical qualities.
Duncan, typical of the North today, had more snowy forgiving conditions.

excellent grip. Groomed terrain very smooth, even to "Last Run".
If you have 'em... Yellow lenses are a definite asset in these conditions.

Sides Of Tremblant...
5:55 A.M. Early Report, "Out Of Office",
Morning Chores and Errands Notice.
On the surface... it looks like we did not get all the
snow we anticipated or were expecting this last weather
system to produce.
We say "On the Surface" because we aren't at the Summit yet
to verify for absolute fact the overnight efforts of Mother Nature,
who sometimes "Works in mysterious ways" and may have
created more up there than the stat's show at the base.
There's a chance we were wrong about the amount of fresh snow,
but there definitely is fresh snow, and as soon as we get
our "Out of Office" chores and errands done, we're on the road to
Versant Nord, The North Side, to... "Get On Top Of The Situation".
Here's an early morning clue to how variable the overnight
weather outcomes might be compared to the overnight Snowfall
Stat's or forecast...

Snow in Trees and generally all over the place!
Looks can be deceiving, so we'll need to check it out in
person to confirm.
Regardless of the fact that we might have been wrong about the
amount, that does not, under any circumstances, reduce or diminish
the fact that the Skiing and Boarding are Very Very Fine at Tremblant
and we'll have the Apres Ski Pic's to prove it, "Lord Willing, Creek Don't
Rise".
The current Snow Accumulation, Year to date, is 251 CM,
or 99 inches according to todays Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report.
Last Year on this date it was 169 CM
Two Years ago it was 163 CM
In an "Averaged" amount, we're 86 CM, or
very close to 34 Inches ahead of the last two seasons
right this second, "Too Much Snow" to be anything but
Excellent!
That's not guessing... and it's the best insurance that if
you're going to vist Tremblant today, "tomorrow" or
any time for the rest of this season, Tremblant should
be in just as remarkably fine shape is it is right now.
Today's Weather was forecasted to be Sunny, and it certainly
appears to be starting out that way, but once again, there is
a difference of opinion about the weather. Tremblant.ca's Snow
report shows "Overcast", while The Weather Network shows
"Partially Sunny" with intermittent cloud cover.
Temps start out at -13C and we expect a daytime high of -8C,
or 18 degrees F., with Moderate Northerly winds, so you can
expect the breezes to be moving across the Summit from
the top of Nansen/La Crete/P'tit Bonheur, towards Soleil/Duncan
If the Sun comes out, you can expect to feel Thermal energy
for warmth on any wind sheltered Trail-side spots you can find.
It's one of those days that could go either way and the choice of
Shell or Parka for outer layer is a judgement call that is best made
in favour of either additional Layers or Zippered Vents on whatever
for the sake of comfort.

Don't forget... Fresh, Sharp Edges are your best friend in
any Open Alpine Terrain. Performance degrades with use
gradually, so if you have not had a Ski of Board Tune-up in
the last 10 days of use, do it. You'll think ya' got new gear.
