The Cloud Has Risen!
...at least off the Summit surface to a few thousand feet over,
with partial clearing and the odd patch of Blue Sky!

Current Temperature has shot up to +5 C, so there will be
some "Spring" in the air, for sure!
Enjoy the afternoon!

"Dear Tremblant Diary"...
The ongoing daily story of the hopes and dreams
of some passionate Tremblant Winter fans....
"We May Not Have Won The Powder Lottery, But...
We Were Snow Rich To Begin With!"
Bill Gates analogy below...
"X" Marks The Spot....
When it looks like this on the Web Cam this morning...
Lowell Thomas Triple Chair, Summit Off-Load Zone.
It looks like this on the ground.....
Really Snowy!!!
Looks like we'll have #52, the Glade(woods), or Sous-Bois sector
at the Soleil Summit off-line until Mother Nature tops up the natural...
That's the way it goes, we're down one, but in the grand scheme of
things we have to remember that Tremblant arguably has the very
best conditions on the East Coat of North America to begin with!
That kinda' ties in with the weather story that we were hoping
would bring as much snow as forecasted. We definitely got Snow
overnight, the "Big Dump", not quite. We already have some of the
best ever conditions, so were we being greedy in looking for a lot more snow?
Here's how much they were shovelling off
the Versant Nord Base deck this morning...
Nope... Ski Bum's will never stop wanting more Snow, just ask
Warren Miller. (The only reason you may not have heard about Warren
Miller, if you're a skier or boarder, is if you live under a rock.) This is
a guy that single handedly created and evolved the entire "Ski Movie"
industry. If you need more on that, just "Google" "Warren Miller".
Anyway, as most genuine Ski Bum's know, here was a guy who was
so passionate about Skiing that for entire seasons, he slept in a van
in the parking lot of any Ski area that had "more snow".
We are absolutely thrilled to have the World Class Alpine Surface
conditions exactly the way they are... damn near close to perfect,
so if we were excited about getting more, well, that's just natural
for any real Ski or Board Freaks like Warren Miller, or us.
If we were gunna' get a lot more Snow, we think it might be like
Bill Gates winning a multi-million dollar lottery.... already rich, but who
wouldn't smile if fate handed you more....???
We were trying to put all this into perspective when....
A very Nice Person who apparently lives South of Montreal comes
on Tremblant.ca's Facebook Fan page this morning and in very loose
translation asks... "Apart from the Ski Slopes, have you received much
Snow and are other activities like Skating or Snowshoeing possible?"
Tremblant.ca quickly replies, again in very loose translation...
"Since the beginning of the season we've received 278 cm of snow.
Skating, skiing, snowshoeing, dogsledding, everything is open!"
Now then, here's todays perspective in the acknowledgement response:
(loosely translated)...
"Bromont is all grassy;-( sad winter here! apart from the ski mountain ...
there is not much to do! Thanks for the quick response!"
There you have it in the most basic of basics...
Tremblant has a ton's of abundant natural snow, a lot more
than many other areas... and that's why we're really so Thankful
and Happy with things exactly the way they are!
We still think Bill Gates would smile if he won a lottery,
so we'd be smiling if Mother Nature sent more snow too!
(Just in case Tremblant.ca's F/B Bromont Reader ever see's this....
Here's our most recent Dog Sledding file pic., from 2 weeks
ago when we already had tons 'o snow! ...there's more now.)
Today's Weather:
Just cracking into the "Plus" temps by a degree C, at least at the base
Resort Level, so the Summit and the North should remain nicely below
zero, particularly if they're accurate on the light South-West wind part.
Breezes coming up the mountain roughly from the Soleil sector and moving
across the Summit towards the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair off-load zone.
Overcast, foggy, snowy, cloudy, at times thick, will do nothing but add
good quality snow to the already fantastic base. Beautiful Full Mid-Winter
Conditions worth driving thousands of Kilometres to get to.
If you're sitting in South Carolina, U.S.A., or any where
nearer, wondering "Where the Hell is Winter?" these conditions are
worth driving up here for. ...18 hours of good driving, 3 friends/drivers,
1 vehicle... easy 1 day...
The Way Things Are At Tremblant.... Amazing to think we actually get used to seeing these
"Proof Of Snow" views, but this is the daily diary reality
of Tremblant.... A fabulous, fabulous Winter.
