Preliminary Apres Ski @ 7:55 P.M.
Amazing Day Of Winter Excellence.
We like any kind of Snow, but we really like Snow
that's "Squeaky" Cold.
North, Edge... Cooler, and Excellent.
South, Soleil... Warmer, and Excellent.
Winter, Winter, Winter.... but with one hint of "Spring"....
The "Spring" hint was the height of the Sun in the Sky...
There's no doubt, the afternoon brightness advantage of
March over January is unmistakeable, so cold or not,
there is definitely Solar intensity, and it was heating up
anyone who Skied the South, because when we did,
we were hot by the time we hit Johannsen's Gondola
Loading Zone.

95(*) Open Trails on the KKKKKKKoooool,
BBBBBrrrright, 4 Sides of Tremblant!
You can probably figure out what that means...
but just in case you're not quite awake,
and you need a -23 C degree clue....
It's Day 1 of a 2 Day "Sale" on "Winter" at Tremblant!
For the past week or so, we've been talking about "Transitions".
Well, this week may well be one of the best examples of the kind
of "Transitions" we can think of....
Let's see....
-23 C this morning.... 48 hours from now "They" say it'll get up to +5 C.
That's a 28 Degree C, or 82.4 Degree F Spread and quite the "Transition"!
Damn Near Blizzard 48 Hours ago.... Possibility of rain 48 hours from now...
Another "Transition".
White-out grey Overcast to Brilliant Sunshine from any given day to the next,
or even from morning to afternoon....
"Transitions" ... all of 'em, and there's more to come....
Anyway, for Today and Tomorrow... It's All "Winter",
"Crisp", Bright and Excellent Skiing and Boarding!!!
As a result of everything that's happened so far this Season.....
These Next 2 Days Are Prime Candidates For....
"Best Days Of The Season"
This Is Everything You Need To Know
About Why.... As well as all the Snow that was here before...
There are places where it snowed and drifted in over a foot
in the last 36 hours alone.
(And by the way... this "Proof of Snow/Drifting"
Pic from yesterday, Lowell Thomas Trail Side,
is definitely on the "Level" (**) and very, very real.)
Cool Today, For Sure, But...
All you need to do is.... Dress For It!(**)
Re: Gloves shown in Pic. above.
(**) We got these "Level", 4 layer Boarding gloves at a Ski Patrol Benefit Ski
Swap about 6 seasons ago, quite by coincidence. They were a bit pricey, but
they looked well designed with the big gauntlets, and well made too. We were
right, they've been the best gloves we've ever owned, bar none, and very warm.
Minus 30's C is no problem. The long gauntlets that go 5 inches over/above the
wrist band of your jacket are the single best example of how an "Overlap" seal
can retain Finger/Body heat. Excellent, Excellent product.
The Hand, Wrist, Jacket interface is one of the most ignored and
misunderstood secrets to cold weather comfort. The wrist exposure
typified by most "consumer" grade gloves/mitt's, bleeds off heat quicker
than you can say "Jack Frost", a critical error completely eliminated by
this "Level" design system.
All the Typical Cold Weather Conditions Caveat's Apply Today...
Make sure all your layers, overlaps and seals are fully in place.
Zero Exposed Skin Alert, first thing this morning...
Another "Yesterday Clue" to "Excellent" Today... The snow we got, sampled here on Lowell Thomas,
is light, dry and very close to perfect...
Last nights Grooming will have made Extraordinary!
