4/3/12 Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

25(*) Open Trails, South, North Sides of Tremblant.

If you live regionally, South-Western Quebec, Vermont,
New Hampshire, New York, Eastern Ontario... etc., etc.,
there are about 278,814 different places you could be doing
this:

While on the other hand, in our opinion, there's
only one really good place left to do this:

Tremblant's Northerly Latitude and Peak Elevation at almost 3000 feet
over Sea Level have proven to be a huge advantage in retaining some
very fine Alpine Ski/Board surfaces when most others have suffered
the recent "Heat" to the point of "Closed".

To be sure, there is not quite as much as we'd like, but what there is
in the Groomed inventory is superb with a very stable base being
well kept by overnight below freezing temps that are greatly reducing
the effects of daily Sun and Plus 5, 6, 7 degree C daytime high's.

Tremblant's stable Alpine Ski/Board base is in great shape and
you can do this all day long if you have the muscle for it!

As a result of the continuation of this Day/Night +/- temperature pattern
that is being forecasted for the next 6 days, we anticipate very little loss
of surface quality right up until last run next Monday, April 9th, 2012,
Closing day for this season.

There is one potential risk/glitch, the possibility of less than 1mm, or about
1/64th of an inch of rain in the form of transient shower activity for tomorrow
eve., but because the quantity is so small, we consider that to be insignificant
regarding Groomed Trails. With an overnight below freezing tomorrow, the
possibility exists that anywhere above base levels could actually see snow!

Current Tremblant Summit to Base, 5 Descent Path Inventory:

Sud/South:

1)Summit to Base Via Nansen.
2)Summit to Base Via Beauvallon/Johannsen.

Nord/North:

3)Summit to Base Via P'tit Bonheur/Beauchemin, as well as
Rope Tow/La Traverse/Rigodon/Beauchemin.

4)Summit to Base Via Rope Tow/Cat Track/Duncan.
5)Summit to Base Via Geant/Superieur.

2 Separately Serviced Sub-Zones on the Nord/North that
are completely worthy of Circuit Training/Lapping or just
plain Fun!:

1)Summit to Lowell Thomas Triple Via P'tit Bonheur/Haut, Upper Beauchemin
Rope Tow/La Traverse or Rigodon.

2)Expo Quad Sector Summit to Base Via Sissy Schuss or
Sissy Schuss/Gagnon/Bas, Lower Beauchemin.

All the directly lift accessible terrain from the first 3 options
above as well as the North Sub-Zones are in very fine
condition.
Whatever relatively minor glitches may occur,
come from daily wear and tear or temp/solar related
thaw and are currently being rebuilt daily by Mountain
Crews during evening grooming.

-------------- end of list -----------------------

The Un-Groomed Expert Terrain has "Progressive" or
Gradual opening status and is subject to Ski Patrol
inspections and could change either way with very
little notice due to either Weather or Natural Hazards
that are beyond Human Control.

You have to be prepared for some hiking to get to some
of the Expert only Un-Groomed, and there are Hazards
that require very careful navigation and potential harm
to Ski/Board bases.
