31(*) Open Trails on South and North Sides of Tremblant.
3.... 2..... 1.... GONE!
Vanishing Act....
Yup, only 3 days left and our 2011/2012 season will vanish forever
into history....
But time is the only thing vanishing today as the Open Trail Count goes up
to 31, just in time for the last Saturday of the season.
Launch Into A Great Easter Ski Weekend!
We like to hang around at the North Park Top Jump from
time to time. The pic's we get are all spontaneous and with
very few exceptions, completely un-planned, but amazingly,
Tremblant's way better than average Alpine Skiers/Boarders
never fail to show up and perform some really good moves.
Todays weather is forecasted to be sunny, but so was yesterday, so
while it was to a degree, cloud cover did creep in making for a bit
more grey. So far this morning the South Base area is nice and bright,
the odd cloud floating around, but there is definitely an overcast
portion to the North horizon visible from the Summit Web Cam.
We hope Mother Nature keeps the cloud to a minimum.
Daytime high temp expected at +5 C, moderate North winds,
so moving across the Summit from P'tit Bonheur towards Soleil.
Easy, easy Spring day....
This pic is from the day before yesterday and with any luck, it will
look like this today. Early Morning, 7:55 A.M. Web Cam Observations:
Most of the Blue Sky seems to be in the West.
To the North, big wavy higher altitude cloud.
From a practical point of view, we might even wish for a bit of
cloud to keep Solar Radiation off trail surfaces. For the most part,
it won't hurt anything, but there are some lower run-outs,
like Nansen and Sissy Schuss that are getting low in snow, so
preserving them through to Monday is the main objective.
Learning to Ski and the Summer Layover Mind-set.
Above...
If you are working on improving your Ski/Board technique, this
is not only the last time to take a lesson, but it's a great time
to take a lesson because going through the Summer with a
lasting final impression of positive learning experience helps
create "Visualization" and a "Mind-set" that will elevate both your
skills and anticipation for the next season, next fall.
The surfaces Tremblant has for learning right now are some of the
easiest of the entire season. The Snow is smooth, and almost a perfect
consistency for making rapid advancement with very pleasant temps,
so for multiple reasons, it's a good time for learning.
Here's a great "Blue" Intermediate Trail, Versant Nord, the North Side
Rigodon, down to the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair Loading Zone.
Above...
We wanted to include this pic from Thursday because it shows
a primary reason for excellent conditions on the North, as
indicated by the amount of snow in the bush.
While bush snow has been depleted by heat on the South, you can
see that there's still great natural snow retention in this area and
that's very much helping to keep these beautiful surfaces.
The "Experts Only" Terrain....
We promise to go over to Superieur on Versant Nord, the North Side today.
We have not gone there yet as it has required hiking, but we've been told
that it is exceptionally fine and Groomed as well, so we're off to find
out about that.
Not sure if we'll try Duncan... all we have are "Good" skis, so not
keen on risking bases, but we'll take a peek anyway and see how it looks.

If you live regionally... you should be on the way right now.
Otherwise, you can sit around at home and watch the flowers come up...
