14(*) Open Trails on the Wintery, White Slopes
of Tremblant.
If this was the only thing we posted about todays conditions
at Tremblant, it would be all the reasons you ever needed
to drop what you're doing right now and rush to the Summit
as soon as you could.
Tremblant's Summit, Sunday, November 25th, 2012.

summarizes Tremblant as a world class Alpine Snow Sports
environment.
Today will definitely feel like a winter day, despite the fact that
technically speaking, it is still fall. Additionally, now that the busy
Opening Weekend is in the books(we hope all our American cousins
had a Happy Thanksgiving!), it will be the first of what we like to call
"Private Club" days. Those are the days immediately following big
Holiday dates when the crowds have all gone home and Tremblant's
slopes are comparatively quiet, and Mountain traffic is light.
Those lucky enough to be here today will be the chosen few that share
in the best day of the new season so far.
The reasons today will be the best day of the new season are four-fold.
1) Lots of fresh snow... obvious benefit.
2) Lots of new Snowmaking... obvious benefit.
3) Grooming Refinement. We say "Refinement" because to a degree,
the benefits of Grooming are accumulative over multiple days, particularly
when there's any measure of new snow.
4) Light Mountain traffic, no lift lines, wide open trail spaces.
But that's not all...
Days like today are what will take you back in time to the more
"Zen" like elements of Skiing's Nordic roots, before the advent
of things like(with all due respect), Terrain Parks, Smart Phones,
iPods, Freestyle, Gigawatt Slope-Side P.A.Systems, Walkman's,
Go-Pro's or Bluetooth.
Days like today will make you a better Skier. Days like today
will make you a healthier person, Physiologically, Psychologically
even Spiritually as you commune with your physical self
within Mother Natures pristine winter world of Tremblant.
For thousands of years, long before any Europeans came to this
continent, Tremblant was regarded by the Native Inhabitants
as a place of great spiritual reverence. Stand quietly trailside
here today and that Spirit may find you.
This Season's Theme...
Find Yourself At Tremblant.
Back to reality...
This might be the best way to describe today's conditions...
Tremblant is going to be very fast today.
Spreads Like Butter, Skis like Satin.
Here's what you have to work with... 1) Firstly, the new Snow, both natural and blown have come in the
presence of a wintery cold ambient temperature, so it's all light and
dry with very little internal moisture so there's no stickiness to it.
Very low resistance and consequently, low friction too.
2) This is not mid-February, it's only the 26th of November so the base,
as exceptional as it is for this date, is still not 6 feet deep, so wear
factors can reveal the "Firm" substrates of the seasons first days.
Use Speed appropriate for your skill level, and you'll be fine.
Explore terrain at slow speed to confirm surface characteristics
before you engage "Light Speed".
Otherwise, you can pretty much look forward to this all day...
Todays Weather.... Main Feature, Sunny!
Temps starting at -8C and gradually working up to -4C,
so not all that cold, but a moderate Nor-West wind coming
up Nansen will make it feel cool if you're not bundled up
a bit. TGV will be an easy ride, top of Lowell T might feel
chilly, but once off the Summit, especially on North,
it should be very pleasant and if you can find a quiet trail-side
spot, the sun will make heat.

Please Note: We are happy to see the PDF is in the process
of being restored. Today's copy shows the Snowmaking
indicators.
Yesterday's a big reason you want to be here Today!

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
