T360 Apres Ski Edit... @ 9:00 P.M.

While the wind howls in one place...

There are other sheltered spaces where the scene looks
like this...

In the mean time for those who can't be here to see sights like
the one above, the web cams can be used to stitch together
a bigger picture as we show you below. (You might be interested to
know that the scenes above and below are less than 500 metres
from one another.)

So, what you can tell by the one above is... while snow definitely fell,
it's not quite to the "Blizzard" depth we were hoping for. Non-the-less,
showing a nice accumulation in the trees beside(right) and on the roof
of the Expo Quad Loading Zone Control Room.

Are You Ready For This?!?!?!

There has been just enough new snow to open a substantial portion
of what we might call the Middle of the upper North between the
Duncan and Lowell Thomas sectors. Banzai, Marie-Claude Asselin (MCA
to locals) and Le Tunnel are all scheduled to come on line, making this
another reason for "exceptional" when describing this season and the early
dates for these openings.

--------------- 7:57 A.M. Orig. Post -----------------

37(*) Open trails on the very windy, blustery
Snowy Winter slopes at Tremblant.

The Official Snow Report has stated that very high wind related
safety issues require Mountain guests to shuttle to the North
to access the Summit this morning.

Unfortunately, the weather system that has been making it's way
across this part of the East Coast for the past day has caused lift
operational glitches yesterday and today.

"Bad" winter weather is never anything we're afraid of though,
because it typically includes "Snow". That makes these conditions
right now a "Mixed Blessing" meaning that the lift inconvenience
is at least offset by the benefit of the snow and besides, there's
not much that can be done when Mother Nature decides to create
a "Wind Tunnel Effect".

It will create some backfill drifting on the North and maybe even a
lot of backfill drifting, so things may get very, very good in some
sectors as a result of all this.

Let's Talk About The Weather...

BLIZZARD! ... well at least that's what we're hoping for...

... and the reason we think that's a very high probability is:

Here is a shot of the Environment Canada weather radar image from
just before noon.

Huge Difference! ...A totally SNOW, Huge Difference!!!

Temps today should stay nicely sub-zero with a trending upward
over the next day. South Resort base levels should not go much
above -4C and even if it goes up to -1C or heaven forbid, maybe
zero or + 1or 2 C tomorrow, the Summit should stay below zero all
along due to its higher elevation.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
