T360 Middle 'O The Night Apres Ski...
and Draft of Tomorrow partial report content.
@ 3:13 A.M., 12.23.12

Good Night California! ... Good Morning GMT !!!

... and Greetings to Local Night Hawks!!!

As a result of the severe winter storm that placed a great stress
on infrastructure, there were all kinds of delays and glitches
in transportation, access and power delivery.

It also created scenes like this...

A review of Social Media will show that there were many
regional power outages and unfortunately, Tremblant suffered
along with others in the interruptions experienced today.

Too Much Snow??? Maybe for some, but for a Ski Resort, never.

The power outages obviously inconvenienced many, including
passengers on some lifts, but ultimately, whenever that happens,
all we can do is cope with it until the "Powers That Be",
can get the Power back on.

The dramatic force of the storm has passed and we feel Mountain
Guests can look forward from this point to some of the best Christmas
Season Skiing and Boarding on record as Tremblant Mountain Crews
work all the new snow into the base.

The sun is forecast to return for a crisp, bright start to the day
and we hope that the sunny ambiance will help create a positive
sense of appreciation for all the beautiful new snow.

Temp's at sunrise will be somewhere around -13C, so it will
justify heavier outer layers, but the Snow Surfaces should be
absolutely superb. There will be some heavily drifted un-groomed
areas that will require Expert level skills so be sure to choose
wisely and match your abilities to Trail selections for maximum
fun and safe control.

There are 69(*) Open Trails on the Official, Preliminary Snow
Report for Sunday, Dec. 23rd

----------------------------------------------------------

12.22.12 @9:30 A.M. Update.... Expo Quad Lift and Edge sector
placed on "Progressive" or Gradual Opening Status, pending Ski Patrol
Safety Certification.

The Official Snow Report states weather factors.

The possibility exists that local power losses and/or shortages due
to "Too much Snow", have caused power interruptions at the Resort
that may potentially effect Lift operations.

These power outages, including the upper portion of the Resort Village,
happened yesterday with some frequency.

"Too Much Snow" ... now that's a "Happy" problem at a Ski Resort!!!

Sorry for the so-far abbreviated style report.
we're swamped with family Christmas commitments
and trying to juggle all the balls in the air!

pg. is still under construction...
drop everything...and go!

--------- Archival Additions from yesterday -----------

we are including these here because yesterday's Journal du Jour
has the maximum number of attachments the forum format supports
at this time.

These are Proof of Drifting at the Summit, right in front
of the Ski Patrol H/Q. We have never seen such quick accumulations
there and you can clearly see the Snowmobile closest to the rail
has had a drift form right over the seat. The drift formation at the
Summit was happening on all the North-Westerly Leeward Summit
topographical features and we were using these as an example
to illustrate how observation here could show what to expect
on the Mountains Alpine Ski Trails.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
