Intro...
A Bright Cool Day... Temps Hit -9C at 1:00 P.M. and held there for
an hour or two... at this hour it's -19C, so definitely going to be
a "Crisp" morning....
Surfaces being refined, added to and developed within the scope of
available resources, meaning that there is still sorting out from the
gigantic Snowstorm that has crippled some of the local infrastructure.
We have more on that below...
------------ 6:37 A.M. Orig. Post ----------------------
63(*) Open Trails At Tremblant.
Will we finally see the Sun again today?
Forecasters think we will, so we'll look forward to it
but the thing we're really looking forward to seeing
perhaps a nice Christmas Present of more Open Terrain?
We hope that Mountain Crews are making progress towards
re-dedicating the Edge Sector Opening that we were so close to,
and we wish them all the best in sorting out the glitches
caused by the recent Snow Super Storm.
Ultimately, we feel that whatever inconvenience has been
suffered will be returned in the benefits of what so much
snow means to superb conditions.
Best Reason to Ski or Board Tremblant.
Best Reason to Plan to Ski or Board Tremblant... Todays Conditions:
Generally, Excellent.
There will be vast amounts of Great Green Groomed Terrain, 2 best examples
will be Nansen and P'tit Bonheur, of course, but there will be lots more.
Vast amounts of Blue, Intermediate Terrain too.
In the expert category, things become more complex
because there are many "Normal" days when very well
groomed Expert terrain can be tackled by confident
intermediates who want to increase their skill sets.
With over a meter of fresh snow in a week, there will be
un-groomed expert terrain that is quite difficult for even experts,
and intermediate terrain that requires Expert technique.
Deep snow is not always easy and frequently demands
precise technical fundamentals. We would never stop anyone
from trying to grow and learn in skill sets, but caution is entirely
appropriate now.
So, until all the new snow gets integrated into the base by either
Grooming or Mountain Ski/Board Traffic, it's very important to
pay attention to not only the regular posted trail signs/symbols,
but any temporary rating signs put up on trails by the Ski Patrol.
Todays Weather is indeed forecast to be Sunny, Clear
and a crisp -14C to begin with. The wind is very close to
calm with wispy breezes from the Nor-East or coming
up the Mountain over P'tit Bonheur.
As the sun and the temps rise towards noon, we'll likely see
a shift in wind direction to the West and moderate velocities that
will not be uncomfortable if we reach the projected high
temp of -9C.
Under sunny sky's at these temps, you'll be able to find Solar
energy in any quiet trailside locations along with the Tremblant
signature panoramic views that go on and on over the vast vista's
of the the Summit and all upper level elevations. This is one day
where you'll want to have camera ready with fresh and back-up
batteries to capture all those Postcard views.
Here is our 1 Pic. Sunny, Snowy, Postcard Forecast du Jour. Up Close and Personal...
the spirit of Tremblant shines through.
We could have chosen a panoramic, but the very special
and intimate beauty of being surrounded by so much snow
never fails to appeal, especially on a bright day.

There are no really effective words that aren't already
way over-worked, that can describe the current abundance
of Fresh Natural Snow over what is probably the best ever
recorded Seasons Start.
On top of that we're very biased because we love Tremblant
above all others.
There are very few places where Mother Nature speaks
to you so eloquently as she does here and it is our sincere
wish that you should be able to Find Yourself at Tremblant
as soon and as often as possible.
For those that celebrate...
Joyeux Noel, Merry Christmas, to One and All.
We hope to have an Update Apres Ski, so please come back
later if you can.
