T360 Apres Ski Intro.... @ 10:10 P.M.

You don't need to be much of a detective to figure out the Skiing
is excellent, this one pic could do, but for those that would like
more "Evidence", you can continue your detective work by scrolling
down through to the attached "Reply", below.

93(*) Open Trails on the Icing Sugar Coated
4 Sides of Tremblant.

The endlessly fascinating, singularly unique, beautiful
in any weather, Smooth, Spooky, Sugar Coated Slopes
of Tremblant are in excellent condition.

The full colour, surrealistically black and white, tone on tone,
shades of grey, was unquestionably a challenge for rendering
some surface detail with "Snap Shot" ease, but there's no
question you can get a feel for the days ambience with scenes
like this....

Artists try to capture these types of scenes, but could
never come close to the experience of being surrounded by them,
enveloped by them, for an entire day on these spectacular surfaces.

For much of the day's experience it felt like floating in space,
cruising through some sort of netherworld of ghostly smooth,
spooky etherial, mystical Alpine Ski Nirvana.

Best Surfaces Day of the season so far? Arguably, yes, because the
lateral grip capability of every Groomed surface we covered was
sufficient to allow so much G-Force Loading that eventually, you just
had to back off and cruise a few turns to regain some muscle reserve.

This Way To "Excellent"!!!
Something for everyone from this one magical point
off the top of the Expo Quad.

Outstanding traction at all speeds, where speed was safe for the vision
available.

While the Summit was completely surrounded by low cloud fog, almost
immediately things improved on any descent, although it would be fair
to say that the cloud/fog extended further down in the morning, so by after
lunch it was to the point that you were clear of it within 50 or so
vertical meters. That did not change the flatness of the light however,
...but at least you had the long range vision to safely dial up the speed
and Oh What Fun That was!

As we stated above, the lateral force G-Loading potential was
immense. Edge hold was the very best it's been so far this season
and virtually everywhere with no apparent flaws. For expert
high speed short radius carvers, i.e. G.S. Or Slalom Style
turn rippers, you could generate enough force to feel it push
your eyes back in your head.

From our experience in a race car on a proper race track like
Le Circuit, right here in the Tremblant region, we can tell you
those forces can only be felt when you begin to approach 1 G
of lateral force build-up.

To be able to do that, on skis, all day, or at least as long as you have
muscle for, on virtually any Groomed Terrain on the PDF list, certainly
places yesterday among the very top of performance experience days
at Tremblant... ever.

Today Should be exactly the same...

pg.under all day construction, currently -3C, so surfaces still safe,
....we'll have wait and see what the day brings, but right
now looks like couple hours of zero or +1C, followed by up to
10 CM or 4 inches of fresh snow with potentials as noted above.

We are adding Apres Ski Edits every day, frequently late
due to other commitments, so check back whenever and Thanks
for your visit!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Apres Ski... Under construction at 10:20 P.M.

"It Snowed a whole bunch, and it's still snowing..."

That's it in a nutshell, but of course, there's more detail we're adding,
it just takes a while to sort and process pic's

By the Noon Hour, the Gondola ride turned into a Snowy
immersion experience.

While the rate of Snowfall was reasonably steady, it was punctuated by
periods of vigorous squall activity that created localized white-outs.
There were also glimpses of longer vision that did occur between the
swirls of twirling snow.

On the way up the Duncan Quad today, we were asked "Do you
like to Ski while it's snowing? It's a good thing that we did not even
need to think about that one, so the "yes" that we replied with, sounded
before the echo of the question asked had faded.

That exchange reminded us of not only our enthusiasm for Skiing,
but how with very little observation, it's only a matter of moments
before there is ample evidence that all truly dedicated Winter Alpine
Sport Participants Love to Ski or Board in fresh falling snow.

With that thought in mind, we turned to descend on Rope Tow,
under the Lowell Thomas Triple chair to head towards Rigodon
and with camera out along the way, it was only seconds later
that we captured this moment of unbridled enthusiasm that we see
in the joyful flair of the jumpers form.

While there may be some that prefer the scenic perfections of
only Sunny days of panoramic splendour, we take just as much
delight, if not a wee bit more, for Skiing while the snow that makes
our Sport possible, falls from the sky.

The daily refinements we speak of frequently, took a big step forward
today with our first visit of the Season to Algonquin over on Soleil
which was indicated as "Groomed", also for the first time, as up to
this point it's been left in a natural state.

What a beautiful surface Mountain Crews have put on Algonquin!!!
This interstate-wide Snow White ribbon of smoothness is all set
to welcome those who enjoy cruising on a wide, gentle slope without
any worries about a relaxed pace.

The Weather....

Low of minus 4 C overnight rising to a high of Minus 1, under sunny Sky's.

As a true sign of confidence in conditions here, Tremblant.ca
has published their Preliminary Snow Report for tomorrow
showing 95/95, 100% Open ... that's right, Tremblant Fully Opened!
