Post by T360 »

T360 Apres Ski Posting below in Reply,
before 10:00 P.M. EST.,

But seriously, there's a lot of fresh new snow, so much that beginners
were finding it a wee bit thick in places, mean-time, we were still
doing powder lines on lower Marie-Claude Asselin at Versant Nord,
the North Side's Last Run, at 3:29 P.M.

Pic's and additional detail following below in "Reply"...

These are all the motivation you should need to be
moving safely with all possible haste towards Tremblant,
right this second...

We expect conditions to be very, very fine and literally
improving by the hour!

"Epic" ... Even the potential of "Epic" is a rare treat and
even more so after the recent series of thermal recovery days,
so we hope you are not reading this at the time of publishment
because you are on your way...

Otherwise, this is a short, Pic. based motivational report
because we gotta get going to the Mountain ourselves.
Hope to see you here for Apres Ski and some wallpaper pic's
of todays Snowy action!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Apres Ski Under Construction @ 9:28 P.M.

To begin with, quite a bit of the day's snow came early,
then there was a gap in the Flakes and sort of a sleet/snow
combo particle that was not rain, but came more like a coating
and at the Summit, in the presence of Snow Cloud/Fog.

Unfortunately, it coated Goggle lenses, so much that, regardless of how
wonderful the surfaces may have been, made it challenge to see.

Please Note: there were time gaps between precipitation waves,
so it was not necessarily steady.

With the breeze coming from the South, it was difficult to adapt
because the natural thing seemed to be to try to go without goggles,
but that Southerly wind created too much naked eye strain descending
against it.

Ultimately, skiing the North was easier because the wind was at your back
and that meant that if you kept speed reasonable, you could ski with goggles
up, and naked eye's were not being particle pelted beyond discomfort.

We found Powder Snow exactly where we thought it would be, nicely
drifted along Banzai and Marie-Claude Asselin and we cut lines along
their edges as late as Last Run.

Using the small Trail crossing links less than 25 Vertical Meters
from the Summit on Veasant Nord, the North Side to go between
some of our fav. Pic' Points, this is what we had to "deal with"!

Whatever Moist particle coating got on goggles, none of that made
any negative to the very fine Snow Surface accumulations that
you can see in any of these pic's. Above, the light dryness of the new snow
is obvious and it remained exactly like that everywhere we went, from
top to bottom.

It's been Snowing quite hard, at least on the South Base Levels, since
6:30 P.M. or so, the very slightly dropping overnight temps are just
what's needed to keep it that way too.

The Over-Night Weather....

70(*) Open Trails on the Preliminary Official Snow Report
for tomorrow...

We think that could climb before sunrise... Maybe...

Regardless, though...

You really should be firming up your plans
to set out early for Tremblant Sunday Morning.
