T360 Apres Mid-Night, Apres Ski, Edit @ 1:45 A.M.
We'd like to shine a light on the best signs
that you'll have Great Skiing/Boarding...
Of Course, we're Biased, but seriously, conditions are often
a regionally relative thing, so when the whole East Coast of North
America is affected by Weather, we're certain that Tremblant's
Recovery and Restoration process will be the best sign of Great
Alpine Snow Sports you can find in this part of the world.
Above:
There is an either very solid snow or icy substrate in many
areas, particularly steeper pitches, but like this Geant sample
from today, traversing the whole width of the trail to see if there
is a softer side, was rewarded with a very fine, soft snow line
down the left hand side of this run.
Above: The South Side did have a bit of a mechanical advantage
in the sense that its higher volume of traffic was helping to
render finer particle sized surface layers.
Above: Using the Lowell.T. to Duncan Cat Track was the way we took
to sample the lower portions of Banzai and MCA to check out the
reference we made to them earlier today and we were not disappointed.
Both are in very good condition.
Have all the fun you want at the Casino, but don't
gamble with your Skiing or Boarding choice...
Make it Tremblant!
...but don't forget your "Edges"!
We're working on a big Le Ski Shop "Tune-Up" feature because it's
such an important part of both Fun and Safety.
Base Prep., prior to the Wintersteiger Automated Final Tune.
Of Course it helps that you can have your gear tuned by the very
same people who tune for Gold Medal Winner Jasey-Jay Anderson!

It's Another Great Day to Take Off....
...And Land at Tremblant!
"Canaries In the Coal Mine"... An expression in the English language that
refers to the use of small birds in early underground mining operations to
act as indicators of stable, contaminant free air in the mine. Canaries are
very susceptible to poor air quality and harmful gases so if the small caged
bird suddenly died, the miners knew it was time to get out.
Conversely, if the birds stayed alive, or as in our case this morning,
were found alive in that portion of the mine, you know things are O.K.
in that sector.
In the modern context, "Canaries in the Coal Mine", Alive or Dead, can
refer as a general reference to either the healthy or unhealthy status
of elements/components within a larger system.
These Birds Are Alive...
Banzai and Marie-Claude Asselin are back on the "Open Trail" list, even if
they are listed as "Progressive" or Gradual Openings. This is very significant
in our opinion because these trails have zero snowmaking on them, so no,
zero supplementary help. They rely completely on pure, natural fallen snow
to be open. Consequently, we consider them to be indicators of either found
or restored health regarding general Tremblant terrain.
Bonus: They are shown as "Groomed"... a very, very good sign!!!
Below: Not more than 40 metres away from this scene, Banzai
and Marie-Claude Asselin are "Progressively" back on the Open Trail List.
Another Major, Major, Big Tremblant Bonus !!!
"Last Run" Extended To 3:45 P.M.!!!
Oh Yeah!!! That's 2 more runs for those who know what they're
doing with Lift Timing, for Families that can't make First Tracks, or for
those that only have the "Afternoon" Shift to get out on the Mountain!
More Time For Family Time At Tremblant with extended Lift hours!
Conditions today already reflect the incremental improvements that
daily Grooming and modest fresh snow will make. Carving or "Shred"
depth will be more consistent and over a larger area as things do
nothing but get better, sometimes, by the hour.
If you can make it out, you'll have a blast, if you're planning a near-term
arrival, you're in for a treat, if you had to head home, turn around and
come back.
See ya on the slopes!
Speed, Natural Hazard Safety Caveats:
Recent extreme wet, then super cooled weather have created
icy substrates. Mountain Crews have done an exceptional job
at restoration, however glitches can occur so very careful
attention is required for initial explorations as well as ongoing
daily touring. Watch out for slick surface patterns and definitely
reduce speed in narrow, steep, or high traffic zones.

The Spirit Of Tremblant Sunday's...
This same scene has existed in basic form, since 1939.
If you know Tremblant History, you'll know why this is such a
significant photo. It speaks to the spirit that has brought Tremblant
to where it is today.
We think today will rank as one of the most pleasant, enjoyable
days of the season. Not that it's better than other days, but rather
because after all the recent Weather "Drama", a return to the
more stable patterns of moderate Winter days is very welcome
as we move into the Sweet days of February... The "Heart" of
the Tremblant Winter Season!

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
