Our experience with the daily dynamic of solid morning and soft
afternoon is that the Soft Afternoon is the easier to work with
in terms of applied Skiing technique, with early morning solid,
all you can do is try to be careful.

Same as every Spring, every Year.

Your Skis Are Calling You To Tremblant...

These are signs you're in for some sweet afternoon Spring Skiing...

Our experience has shown the afternoon soft to still have very respectable
speed, however it should be noted that we have our Ski bases waxed
and coated with a Hydrophobic Water repellant. This combination of base
preparation typically makes a very positive and beneficial contribution to speed
and responsiveness.

We say typically, because not every day is the same and there are
some very odd and very few days when nothing seems to work the way
it should... but they are statistically insignificant... base prep for ambient
snow/surface temp works 99%. It was excellent yesterday, and we fully
expect so for today also.

For all that will be here today, the really big weather story is that the Sun
will continue to Shine on Tremblant today, maybe not quite as intensely,
it looks like there may be some upper level wispy cloud, but way
better than the rain that was initially forecast for today.

Any precipitation that may come, now appears as though it will be
through the night, tonight.

Regarding todays "Fully Opened" Status.....

Do not expect all 95 Tremblant Trails to be Open simultaneously.

The fully opened Trail count shows many progressives and rightly so.

Trails that are frozen by the overnight sub-zero can be unsafe until
Mother Nature softens them up... particularly in the un-groomed terrain.

To have any where close to fully 95/95(*) Open trails on March 31st is
a remarkable thing, so given the challenges of daily freeze/thaw cycles,
we're overjoyed at this great, good fortune.

Also... It has been pointed out to us by a regular reader that there is
actually one closed Trail on Versant Sud, the South Side, on the
Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report. The Trail listed as "Closed" is
Ryan, Bas, Lower. That correction is duly noted.

Please Note: There is one anomaly, Ryan Bas, or lower is shown
farer down in the individual Trail List and on the Official Snow Report
as closed.

This is one of the largest Open Terrain Spring Ski Seasons
in Tremblant History.

On top of that OPEN 'TIL 5:00 P.M. TODAY !!!!!

You Should Be On Your Way !!!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360, March 31st., 2013 Apres Ski...

For the most part, it was a great day that as usual, favours those with
expert skills and/or at least very confident learning desire. The firm iciness
of the very early morning presents obvious challenges and the softness
of the afternoon present a different set of challenges... those are the thrills
and rewards of Spring Skiing/Boarding every season.

Even though it was soft on focus, we're putting this one below in, just
because we like the colours, so we'll go with "Special Effects Artistic" as
a descriptive reason for the way it turned out.

There was a glitch with the posted hours of opening, we're not sure what happened
there, but the Official Snow Report included 17:00 hour South/North closings and at
somewhere around 15:00, or 3:00 P.M. that changed and the lifts were closed at 16:00,
or 4:00 P.M.

There was a lot of feedback and a lot of questions from people coming off the
Mountain and those in the parking lots, however when we were asked, we were
unable to respond or answer with any confirmed information. If any Officially
confirmed info. becomes available, we will add/edit it in here, when ever possible.

So, despite the reduced hour of the afternoon, the conditions continued to be very
fine and every single minute was enjoyable with truly memorable coverage on
so much terrain for this, the last day of March, 2013.

There are a lot of Weather Wild Cards in the mix for the next 24 hours.

We'll take a closer look at those in the morning...

Will this Spring scene be turned back to Winter?
