T360 Early Apres Ski, Apres Ski...

The Winter That Did Not Give Up....

Wind propelled Snow across the Summit was very "Winter"!

Basically, it's been "Winter" since Opening Day...[/b]

And, it was quite "Winter-Like" for most of today too.

There was rain early, but it was not a regional rain event, it was
a localized transient pattern that moved in bands over the Mountain
and so there were periods of dry, as well as the periods of wet.
By shortly after noon, it had settled and there was snow in similar
patterns that lasted 'til "Last Run" on the Expo Quad at 3:30 P.M.,
when slight rain sprinkles began.

We had our Descente Ponchos with us in the North-Side parked car,
but they were not completely necessary, so in our case not used today.

Below,
Wet Lens Syndrome .... slight rain spots camera lens for random blur.

The snow surfaces on Sissy Schuss at the top of the Expo Quad
were as fast and as seamlessly smooth as any day this season.
Period. Fact.

Additionally, the North had received a 3 or 4 inch over-night
snow, so the combination created 1st. rate surface conditions of speed,
and lateral hold for high performance carving grip.

In our opinion, and we could be wrong, the very well established base
on the Alpine Trails seems to have the accumulated depth and coverage
that could last through the mild, damp weather forecasted for the early and
mid week to make it to the Bonus Weekend April 12th, 13th and 14th.
Again, we could be wrong, we don't have X-Ray vision, and we don't have
a crystal ball, so we sure hope that our guess is correct.

Prior to the announcement of the bonus weekend, this would have
been the end of the Ski/Board season for the Spring of 2013. For now,
the lifts fall silent for the upcoming week until Friday, April 12th, when
they are scheduled to start back up for a long, last weekend.

Of course, the accuracy typical of Weather Forecasting, means that
Mother Nature may have different plans than Humans anticipate,
for better, or not, so we're keeping fingers crossed for good luck
and "better" Ski/Snow-friendly weather.

Like all other Tremblant Winter Snow Sports Fans, we
are anxious to see the Bonus weekend, next weekend
pass all the hurdles that Mother Nature could generate
without notice.

More Apres Ski in the days and next short while ahead,
with all bonus Weekend info we can find as well.

Regional Tremblant Fans... don't pack your stuff away quite yet...

The Tremblant Summit Sector Snow Pictured Above Is:

Light, Dry, Smooth, Fast, Very, Very Fine... and really close to perfect.

There are not many April 7th's when you can say that.

Overnight Sub-Zero, a wee bit of Fresh Snow... Just enough to cover
parked cars in St. Jovite... and at South Base levels, still hanging on to
below freezing, so you know you're going to have not only "Wall-To-Wall"
White Winter Snow... you're also going to have "Top-To-Bottom"
White Winter Snow.

There's not much else you really need to know. If you're already here,
chances are you won't read this 'til Apres Ski... you're already standing
at the bottom, anxiously awaiting a quick ride to the Summit for your
First Tracks.

If you're not here, all we can say is we'll do as many turns today in
your honour and we'll take a bunch of pic's so you've got the best window
to today at Tremblant we can make.

It's going to be one for the History Books, for sure.

With the Bonus Weekend, next weekend, it's not the last chance you
have to get out, but....

Today is the last day of Pure, Winter Colours of Fun....

Todays Weather...

Starts mildly overcast, just below freezing, with forecasted high
of +7C and potential of rain later on... we'll just have to wait
and see.

Rain Probability rated at 60% right now.

We're taking our Descente Poncho and driving to the North.
If we have to put it on... so be it... we'll have fun anyway.

Skis Bases are Coated for "Warm" ...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
