Then, and this is the one that will be really popular with people
who are just out for some fine Skiing or Boarding over the weekend
and may not be connected with the 24Hr Children's Charity Fundraiser....

THE NORTH SIDE OPENS, Summit to Base... TOMORROW!!!

That's what we'll focus on in Apres Ski, posted below in "Reply"...

-------------- Orig. Post @ 8:59 A.M. ---------------------

27(*) Open Trails on the all White Slopes of Tremblant.

Things could get a wee bit messy at Base Levels today....

.... but fear not, Tremblant Fans....

We think it will be of short duration, and very soon forgotten.

It will Ski and Board Just Fine. It may seem damp, but there's
every possibility it will be fast, fun and have some great
"Spring Skiing" like qualities, so...
Keep on Truckin' !!!

Below: our one pic surface conditions forecast sample for today...
Phuzzzy or not, we think it's gunna be Phassst!

Please excuse the burned up, turned up highlights, contrast etc.
Long, spontaneous, hand held Telephoto's in ambient low contrast,
cloud/fog are rarely going to be critically acclaimed, but sometimes
capture the conditions of the moment well.

for itself...

At 4:15 A.M., Very early this morning,
the Summit Temp was still nicely below Zero...

The Summit has been Sub-Zero for all intents and purposes, for weeks.
A few hours of slightly above should not have any impact on coverage at all
and beyond "Firm" or a couple days of some icy bits, the conditions
should be recovered quite quickly. The Tremblant Mountain Crews are
Masters of this type of recovery and we don't anticipate any undue delays.

As a matter of fact, with the 24hour Children's Charity Event happening
on Saturday, over to Sunday, we think you'll see a super-human effort
to have things as fine as possible.

On top of that....

There's the scheduled Opening of the Top-To-Bottom North, Via either
the Expo or Duncan Quad Chair Lifts, for tomorrow, Friday Dec.6th.

We'll talk more about the North, Apres Ski...

In the Mean-time, this is what it looks like arriving at the
Summit this morning on the TGV Quad...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

Tremblant Fans that are out for a day's Skiing/Boarding this
weekend are going to have access to the North Side Base level
and return to the Summit Via the Duncan High Speed Detachable
Quad Chair.

The interesting thing to us is that they've been blowing snow at the
North Base since Nov. 22nd, 2013, Tremblant's Season's Opening day.
We can not recall having that kind of head start on the North, ever.

This first Web Cam Pic is from Dec. 4th and with the sun out, it shows a very
clear contrast over the Blown Snow Big Bump inventory. Crews have made
a lot of snow here, and there's been good snow from Mother Nature too
as you can see by looking up Expo.

At this time, the run that will go all the way to the base is Beauchemin.

We can show you that they've been grooming Duncan too, so it may not be
that far off in the future of new Opening Terrain.

There's been a lot of work going on around the Expo Quad Base too.

One aspect we'd like to point out above is that we speculated there
might be a low "Ceiling", as in Cloud Ceiling in our weather analysis
of last night's Apres Ski. Pretty clear to see the Low Ceiling part way
up Expo, just the way we thought it might occur.

Below: 3 hours later the "Ceiling" is dropping which we like
because precip., if it falls, usually falls below the cloud not in the cloud.

stable sub-zero temps.

A final sign the North is coming online....

where we come from, the only time we shovel off the deck in
the winter is when company's coming....

The day the North Base Opens is always a special day in the life of the
Winter Season at Tremblant and we look forward to being there to see
it happen. Hopefully, Apres Ski pic's to document the occasion....
