One Of The Finest Carving Days In Many Moons.

More later in full Apres Ski, attached below, Lord Willing, by about 9:00 P.M.
or as time permits ‘puter done Pic. Processing.

Please Note Short Story For Immediate Planning Purposes:

Fabulous Day… Tomorrow Forecast Same. Go.

-------------- 7:59 A.M. Orig. Post ---------------

93(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sides of Sunny Tremblant.

Soleil Sector… Back On-Line!

Weather Notes:

Cool, But Sunny.

Sunny, But Cool…. so with the advancing tilt of the Earth and
the now, more direct Solar Rays, by shortly after lunch there will be
noticeable Thermal Energy in Quiet Trail Side spots. Forecasted Day-time
high temp of -11C will represent a world of difference to the very frosty
-29 C Overnight.

Welcome Back To Sunny!!!

Bienvenue à Soleil!!!

A Very Welcome, Full Function, Restored to Soleil Today.

Below: Cruisin’ Kandahar...
This is exactly what you get so far this morning, with a very high altitude
hazy, super thin, overcast which is acting as a minor filter for the
direct sunlight.

Any day is a Great Day for Learning, But a Sunny Day
Makes a positive phycological difference that seems to
make students “Brighter” in more ways than one.

With that minus 29 C(Yikes!!! It was REALLY KKKKOOL overnight), we’re
hoping the Cryogenic Treatment will have “Dried Out” the ever-so-slightly
higher surface resistance of yesterdays top layers.

We’ll get back to ya on that one, but in any event, today is going to be
a Fabulous day to be at Tremblant!

Keep in mind…

This is the Principle Component of your Excellent Tremblant Day!!!

Beautiful, Abundant, All Natural, Right From Mother Nature…

Snow White Winter Magic!

When the “Raw Ingredient” is what you see above….

you don’t have to guess about the Quality Below.

McCulloch has been firm and fast for about two weeks with
no perceptible ice that we’ve been able to find. Fresh Edges
are still an asset due to steepness, but it’s been very consistent
all along.

This consistency is quite typical of everything on the Open Groomed List.

On the Un-Groomed, there is a higher rate of variability due to traffic,
so there are some natural hazards, but easily within the Expert Ratings
of those trails.

Conditions Notes:

Please Note: Review trail status icons/legend in graphic below
for individual trail detail.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

We wrote about last night’s Cryogenic -29 C Treatment of the Snow
Surfaces that had exhibited slightly elevated resistance or drag
yesterday, in the hopes that would all be gone.

It Worked!

Todays Carving was Wicked Fast and Wicked Fun …

Not to mention a Wicked Good Work-out of Quad Burning
Power Driven Excellence!

From the Summit down… Any Sector we tried was Superb, Smooth and
Very Very Swift.

It was the kind of day with so many User Friendly Grip And Traction Factors,
that Intermediates were showing great confidence in trying Black Diamond
Rated Trails, and successfully so!

Above and Below… There are a select few days in the season when
the steeper pitches, all black rated skill levels, are forgiving enough
for solid, confident Intermediates to try. This was one of them.

More following as time permits…

If you’re a local and you can make it out tomorrow… go, and
don’t hesitate. Do what you need to to get covered for the day
and quietly slip out the back door… we won’t tell… Promise.
