A Very Easy Day With Bright Sun, Warmth, And Very Good Speed.

We can tell you for a fact… This is as good as it looks…

Very Difficult to put into words how fine Tremblant’s Terrain is right now.
It’s almost one of those “You Have To Be There” scenario’s, but in case
you can’t be, put these pic’s up on your Big Screen, Smart T.V.. It’s as close
as we can come to putting a window to Tremblant in your living room.

Above: Viewed from the top of the Expo Sector, we’re looking at
the upper portion of the travel of the Duncan High Speed Detachable
Quad Chair. At the top of this view The Chair runs over the Duncan Trail
at the Summit. Just below the Mogul Portion visible to the left of the
Groomed Descent of Duncan, is the entrance to Devils River, which is
the subject of a brief Trail Review in todays main Post below.

We are very pleased to report that Devils River has held it’s condition
today and continues to be a fine example of Excellence in Trail Presentation.

Extensive Research has shown that Snow Surfaces at Tremblant
continue to be very reliably even, on all Sectors.

With so much Open Terrain, there is light traffic per square area, so
Trail Conditions are quite uniform right up to “Last Run” when we have
been still easily able to locate Groomed Corduroy on Trail edges.

There are small icy patches below some of the Steeper Crests, however,
easily traversed with well tuned edges.

There’s a HUGE Snow Storm to the South of us that has already paralyzed
most of the East Coast of the U.S.A. and will be covering Montreal as well.
At this stage it looks like we’ll get some too, but not as much as areas to
the South.

Sunny, with a Daytime High of -5 C is going to seem like “Beach” Weather
to those who have braved some of the cooler days of Winter so far.

Unrestricted Joy will come from the almost Flawless Wall-To-Wall,
exquisitely fine snow surfaces that will accompany this easy temp.,
and an ambitious, fit, well fuelled Tremblant Fan could crack 30,000
Vertical Feet of Skiing Today, without any trouble at all.

Here’s The Backdrop For Your Day At Tremblant…

“How To" Ski 30,000 Vertical Feet In A Day At Tremblant…”A”.

This first example shows Expo on the upper pitch and there’s no doubt that
if you’ve got the finely tuned edges to handle Grip on this steepness, impressive
vertical can be achieved very quickly.

“How To" Ski 30,000 Vertical Feet In A Day At Tremblant…”B”.

This second example on Versant Nord, North Side, Devils River is one of the
“Hidden Gems” of Tremblant today and in our opinion, this specific trail is
in the finest shape it can be, and maybe, just maybe, the finest Groomed
shape it’s ever been in.

An Example Of Very Close To “Perfect”…Tremblant Trail Conditions Case Study Example: Devils River.

Devils River is in Excellent, Fabulous, Super Quick, Super Smooth Condition.

There may be a flaw somewhere, but we couldn’t find so much as a single
snowflake out of place.

Goto:If you have not been on Devils River Recently…
Be sure to give it a try A.S.A.P.

Devils River is accessed off of Versant Nord, Duncan, just below the top
pitch from the Summit, on the right side as you descend.

This shot below shows Devils River’s flawless surfaces as you look back
up towards the Summit and the Duncan Quad Chair as it rises to it’s
final approach to the top Off-Load Zone.

Below: A single Skier shows the wide, accommodating dimensions of
Devils River towards it’s lower run-out towards the Duncan-side base of
Versant Nord, the North Side.

The use of the word ”Accommodating” above, is very intentional because
the combination of width, smoothness and the utter reliability of the Surface
Quality over every single square centimetre make this Devils River so
“User Friendly” right now, we would not hesitate to take a confident
Intermediate skill level student on it’s pristine snow.

Devils River is only one example of the tremendous array
of Superb Terrain at Tremblant right now.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
