3/16/14 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski,
… and partial draft of content for tomorrow.

This is all we can offer as far as the promise of relief from the cold…

It’s also the best indication that the Morning Corduroy Sample
Pic Below is going to be Virtually Identical, when the sun comes
up in the Morning.

“Tomorrow Never Comes” seems to be about the best summary of
the extensions of cold for the entire East Coast, not just today, but
for what to many seems like an eternity representing this Winter
that does not want to give in, or give up.

The silver lining is the exceptional Surface Quality that we get to enjoy
as we approach what amounts to the last 5 weeks of the season.

Hard to believe, but we are actually getting that close.

This is the kind of Spring that deserves consideration for
an Emergency Vacation Intervention for the rare opportunity
to Ski or Board Late Season 100% Coverage with the Forecasted
Mild temps, supposedly arriving within the next 36 hours.

The Frost is so deep into the Mountain that in our opinion, the
coverage we have right now will endure more than adequately
to Closing which means any time you can get here will be rewarded
by unusually complete coverage and quality for this time of year.

On top of that, there’s Snow in the forecast too...

Mother Nature Laughs At Forecasters and says:

"I’ll warm up when I’m Ready… and NOT Before!"

Fine, fine… if that’s the way She feels…

If it makes You feel any better, the whole North-East Region
of North America is affected the same way, so we are not alone.

On the Bright side…. Super Sunny, Pure Winter Surface Conditions this morning!

Skiing and Boarding are going to be 95% Excellent! (**)

Both Grooming and Overnight Low Temps will have rendered out
primary Trail coverage of beautiful, seamless Corduroy. With a
projected daytime high of -12 C, there will be all-day Speed and
Smoothness of typical mid winter, not the middle of March, so
there’s no other choice than to bundle up and enjoy it for what it is.

(**) There may be the odd icy bit here and there, after all we have had
some recent warming burps, and even though they were both short
and only a degree or two above freezing, there were powerful winds
with the last one that ended yesterday afternoon, so the possibility
of some slick zones exists.

Tuned Edges will be your best friends…

The Forecast says this will be the last of the Cold for at least
the immediate future, so…

All we can do is wait and see if Mother Nature agrees.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
