----- 92(*) Open Trail Update Graphic Included Below. -----

-----------------------------------------------------------

79(*) Open Trails on 3 Sides.

When you add the Soleil Sector, currently on Progressive Status Opening,
it means that when all are cleared, the total will be 95/95, 100% Tremblant.

From Only The Standpoint Of The Pure Joy Of Fabulous Snow…

We have no idea why every single Ski/Board person within a 300 Km
Range is not here today…

It is difficult to know exactly where to start, and how to describe the
remarkable abundance of such very fine conditions when this is, by
Official Tremblant Resort Declaration, the last day of the Season to
access them completely.

For whatever the reasons, and setting the resultant debate aside, today
is the last day you can see, touch, and experience the unmitigated joy
of being in the centre of the immediately above View.

Therefore, a lot of what is included in this report is done so for the Archival
storage of the Ever-so-real, but almost unbelievably extraordinary conditions
that do indeed exist.

Naturally, as Passionate Tremblant Alpine Winter Snow Sport Participants,
we are personally sad to see the windup, then end, of this and every season.
We don’t know any serious or dedicated Skier/Boarder who does not want
all the Great Terrain they can get… and, for as long as possible, however...

Clinically Speaking, we must leave the Mountain Guest/Customer based
“discussions" about future access to Skiable Terrain for the rest of this
season to other venues and remain focused as best we can on the
observational record keeping at Study, Reference Qualities that accurately
capture the Moment.

So, while we can not be involved in the merits of such “discussions",
it would be inaccurate, unrealistic and/or incomplete to not
acknowledge that they do exist, and any review of dated, unedited
“Social Media” for this time period will show that there is Tremblant
Customer feedback expressing disappointment about Managements
announced Terrain Closures that can not be “Sugar Coated”.

Additionally...

The fact that in the moment, the Ski/Board conditions are so fine, makes
recording them in any degree or sense of “Closed” seem unusual.
(If you want another example of that, just scroll on back to our coverage of
Last Seasons “Closing Day” in April, 2013, a day that made any Mid-February
date Jealous.) We suppose it would not be so difficult to accept loss of accessible
terrain if it was in terrible shape, but understandably less so with the very obvious
excellence at hand.

It’s hard to believe, but there are actually some very strange people out there
who are looking forward to “Golf”. Unfortunately for them, the Frost won’t be
out of the Fairways and Greens ’til mid-June at this rate…

In the Mean-Time…

Yesterday was a gorgeous day, but in a different way than the way
we thought it would go. We enthusiastically guessed that it might have been
the “Best Spring Ski Day In 5 Years” based on the coverage, the forecasted
Sunshine and the Temperature that all would have combined to create the
perfect Spring conditions.

We were wrong on that because…

1) it was not really Sunny until about 2:30.

2) it was cooler than forecast, and with temps
floating around so close to the freeing mark,
it was just enough to keep the icy surface skin
from overnight Friday, well into the day on many
sectors below the Upper Level Snow line .

3) it was not a pure Temp’s all-above-zero C, classically defined
spring day. There was a tremendous variety of very fine trails,
but more Winter-Like than Spring-Like.

So, what we were right about was the “Summit and North Sector Snowfall”,
just look at the top 2 pic’s on this page again… We were also right on the
“Wall-to-Wall” 100% coverage part. It’s amazing, not hardly a twig or a leaf
on any Surface, just Snow, all Snow… everywhere.

Even Algonquin on Soleil, one of the most sensitive runs on the Mountain
for Solar Exposed Thinning is Immaculate.

On a few of the lower portions that did not get the big Snow, there was
a naturally occurring icy top layer from the overnight sub-zero that in a
few spots was just beginning to soften by mid-afternoon.

Otherwise, there was not a single Snowflake out of place. We did not see
so much as a speck, a pebble, a twig or any other perceptible glitch.

Please Note: due to Grey, Flat/Low Contrast Ambient Light,
Highlights, Intensity and Contrast have been heavily altered to
show Trail Snow Surface Detail in todays photography.

The Final Weekend of the Season for the Edge features the kind of Post Card,
thick, fresh Snowfall that has helped defined Laurentian Winter Scenery Globally
for over a hundred years of Destination Tourism. The picturesque tranquillity
gliding through the Snow laden trees on Bon Vivant over to Nansen is
Breathtaking.

As far as the scenic appeal of the Edge to Skiers and Boarders, if you have not
seen it yet, we posted a Great Mogul shot from under the Chair Lift in last nights
Apres Ski, but here’s a long View sample looking over towards the top of Expo,
plus an overlooking shot at the intersection of Action and Haute Tension to
remember it by.

The spontaneous “Whoops" and “Hollers” joyously shouted out by Kidz of all
ages as you rode up the Edge Quad are like “Surround Sound” home theatre
audio emanating from the Glades of Sensation Bas, Lower and Reaction!

As we mentioned above, and as a general Mountain Reference, there was
less warming than forecast which meant there was more Icy than we’d
prefer, however, our recently Tuned Skis did not really ever lose traction,
and as things did eventually soften up, it was as if the surfaces came alive
and Mega Carving Hookup put a smile on your face almost before you knew it.
There was a “SnowLine” half way up the Mountain and above that, particularly
on the North, it was all Winter Snow. Below, on all sides there was softness
that was more uniform the lower you were.

Sunday Weather Notes:

Overnight Temp’s from -1C, rising to +3, but not until 5 P.M.
and under Overcast Sky’s. That’s just fine with us… Solar
energy is the last thing “Snow” needs at temps so close to
the freezing mark.

Nor-East Light Breezes, so coming up P’tit Bonheur, but still
easy with the very mild temp’s.

An Excellent Day for Fresh Air and Exercise!

Merci Tremblant For the Weekend Bonus Open Hours To 5:00 P.M!
A Wonderful Treat! … and Very Much Appreciated!

While We personally do not have any control over the Specifics
of the Open Terrain, we do have total control over our ability
to make the most out of whatever is Open, so it’s time to put on a
Brave Spring Smile and get set for some serious Lapping/Training
Fitness Skiing for the rest of our Winter. We will do our best to utilize
every square CM of everything that is Open, for as long as it’s Open
and we are grateful for the Fine, Daily Efforts of Mountain Crews.

“Golf” will come soon enough.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
