We ran a Tuning Feature yesterday because in the daily
Spring Cycles of Overnight Freeze and Daytime Thaw,
it’s essential to have fresh, sharp edges for any level
of safe performance.
At the time of this posting, it’s -8 C …
...in 6 hours from now it’s supposed to be +12.
If it seems like we hammer at this point, we accept that
for the value it represents as Positive Re-enforcement,
not as criticism. We Ski with people we know are Experts
so when riding up the lift and someone says “That Was Icy”,
and we had good grip on the same run going turn for turn,
we know the only difference can be… edge tune. We may
have sensed some occasional slickness underfoot, we may
have been using more subtle control inputs, but we would not
have thought to call the run we just did “Icy".
Edge Hold Capability Decreases Gradually With Every Use.
99% of Skiers and Boarders can not feel the difference in
their gear from one day to the next, so even some of the
most serious Ski Fans we know do not refresh their gear often
enough, it’s just one of those “One Day Leads To The Next” kind
of things that in the hustle and bustle of busy schedules gets
forgotten or postponed to “Tomorrow”.
If you can not specifically remember when you got your gear
tuned, i.e. How many days of use ago, the date, month or even
the season… you probably need to have it done. (**)
If it’s been a while, you won’t believe the Positive Difference
Fresh Tuning will make to your Skiing/Boarding.
Skiing With Tuned Gear Makes You Look Good.
If it’s been a while, it is the single most dramatic improvement
any experienced Skier of Boarder can make to their performance
overnight. Period.
On days like today that go from Sub-Zero to well above,
it’s the only way to go…. Don’t take your Ferrari to the Track with Flat Tires.
(**) Opinions vary on what might be ideal intervals between
tune-ups, however, most experienced experts will agree that
depending on the type of use, 15 days Plus or Minus 5 would
be typical. For examples... An Aggressive Expert Hard Carver
who Skis a lot of Icy Steep Conditions will notice a big difference
after 10 days, while a Timid Intermediate who only Skis
Green and Blue Groomers will notice a difference after 20 days…
you get the point…
Go Now If You Can...
It won’t be long before you do not have a choice… you will have to go
to the Gym for any kind of serious Leg Power Workout. Only 10 Days Left
Folks… Go when you can...
