Wed. Has The Potential To Be A Very Sweet Day…
because...

it will be a good blend into the top layers of base that might yield

Cold Air with no new snow to buffer the change."
Please Note: These Web Cam Snap Shots Are facing over the Summit
Sector of Duncan which is the only available View due to the Frozen
Icy Covering on the Nansen/ La Crete Wind Facing Side, However we
believe the Visible Accumulations here are equally applicable to all
South Summit Sectors as well.

"Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day…"
There’s Good News and Expected News and then more Good News…
The Expected News is Rain.
The Good News is that so far, there is not as much in either volume or
duration as forecasters thought there would be.
The best evidence of that is the Severe Rain/Flood Warning posted two
days ago by Environment Canada, has shown a more Southerly flow
concentration from the initial Weather Reporting and yes, there’s been rain,
sometimes quite intense, but for the most part it’s actually been more like
drizzle throughout the Region, again, so far. That could of course, change
on the whims of Mother Nature.
Non-the-less, here is the main item you need to make the
most of today and any other day like today…
scroll ----->>> for complete image. Please Note: Above: This file shot of the Brilliantly Simple Descente Poncho
was taken in similar weather on Sissy Schuss 2 years ago. Sissy Schuss
is currently part of the Versant Nord, North Side Closure this week from
Monday to Thursday, and, weather permitting, Open again for the final Weekend.
It has been included here because it is a “Goto” illustration for what we consider
to be an essential item of Ski Gear that we know for a fact can render a day like
today into a very uniquely enjoyable experience. The ability of the Human
Spirit to thrive in even very wet conditions can best be supported by doing
a Google Search for “Dancing In The Rain”.
The “Other Good News” is that it’s supposed to get cool again, and then SNOW!
The Forecasted new Snow is for Tuesday Evening and Overnight.
The New Snow is not going to be any sort of radical Powder event,
more like a few cm’s of refresher, and what we’re hoping for, is that
it will be a good blend into the top layers of base that might yield
a more user friendly surface than if we just went from Warm Rain to
Cold Air with no new snow to buffer the change.

Sorry for late Page construct… chores… more as time permits.
Today is a kind of “Binary Decision” day… you’re either going to
go, or abandon the whole notion to begin with if you’re here on a
pre-booked activity, then go to the Spa, read a book or play Monopoly
all day...
For those brave enough to go, relatively small adaptations as discussed
above, can make huge differences in both enjoyment and utility.
Skiing Great Corn Snow With Every run to yourself is wonderful if
you do what’s necessary to stay dry and warm and that’s easy, so...
Our Motto has always been:
“If it’s Open, and there’s a way to get to the top... We’ll Ski it."
