96(*) Open Trails on the 100% Fully Opened 4 Sides of #Tremblant.

Cool Temp’s, but very close to Ideal Groomed Conditions over Tremblant’s
vast array of all Skill Level Rated Terrain.

On the Un-Groomed Expert Terrain, conditions are Very Fine too, however
natural hazards, as infrequent as they may be now, are always a possibility
so as usual, use your head and explore with care.

OOooops! We Looked and Looked... and we finally found a “Glitch”...

Above:
This is it. A Twig. Mother Nature blew this twig onto the very fine Snow
Surfaces of Versant Nord, the North Side’s Devils River.
Oh My Goodness Sake... What will we do?

That’s a Joke of course...
Please excuse our crude attempt at humour, but that’s just about how picky
you’d need to be to find criticism of the Groomed Terrain that is by every
Historical Measure... Excellent. We think anyone with complaints at this stage is
likely on terrain that is above their Skill Level. It’s unfortunate, but most of the
negative feedback we hear is from exactly that situation where for example,
Intermediates are complaining about Slick or icy bits on something like La Griffe,
a very clearly labeled Expert Trail.(As far as we know La Griffe is fine, however we
will try to get there tomorrow for a good look.)

We Think The Most Important News For Tremblant Fans Is...

A very quick review of the Tremblant Weather stat’s we have on record for the past
8 years shows that the longest period of sustained Pure Winter stretch of Sub-Zero
days within that recent history is around 49.

This is NOT a scientifically derived number as that would take far more time
than we have to verify the exactness, but it’s close enough to make the point.

The point is that by our calculations we are currently at 40 days of sustained
Sub-Zero on the Mountain(**) and the long range forecast indicates there will be a
minimum of at least another 14 days of solid 24Hr Sub-Zero’s, so there’s
a distinct possibility that we will see a new un-official record of Pure Winter
that is going to exceed the previous by a fair bit.

At this stage, it’s probably safe to forecast a number somewhere in the mid 50’s.

What that Means...

1) One of the longest strings of conditions Excellence any of us Long-Standing
Tremblant Fans have ever seen.

2) Frost into the Mountain that is going to support the ongoing excellence
right up to the Last Run of the Last Day of the Season at a level of
quality that may be one of the highest standards of uniform coverage
that any of us Long-Standing Tremblant Fans have ever seen.

How that Should Affect Your Tremblant Attendance Planning... Figure it out yourself,
but here’s a clue...

If You Appreciate Ideal Ski and Snowboard Conditions...
Go as soon and as often as you can...

(**)”On the Mountain” is an important point because the records show two
occurrences, 1@ exactly Zero, and 1@ .9 of a degree C where the South Resort
Base Temps touched Zero and .9 for aprox. an hour or so on each occasion.
The “On the Mountain” reference acknowledges that Temps are LOWER at
Mountain Elevations within a range of 3 to 5 degrees C., consequently temp’s
“On the Mountain” never went above. This is a prime example of the benefit
Tremblant’s Mountain Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network sees with the very fine
tipping points when the South Base temps briefly float around Zero or fractions
of 1 Degree for literally a few minutes, but remain Sub-Zero “On the Mountain”.

Additionally, at any Base Level Zero, Mother Natures own convection circuit washes
the the whole Mountain's Conical Shape from above with Cool sinking air from upper
elevations because of the Laws Of Physics in-so-far-as, Hot Air Rises and Cool Air Sinks.

Weather Notes:

Cool Start @ -25C, sky’s becoming more Overcast and Snowfall commencing
at any moment. The whole day may be punctuated by splashes of Sunshine
as bands of active weather pass over the region, so you can expect not only
a real mix of conditions, but a rapidly changing mix too. Cloudy/Snowy one
moment, Sunny/Bright the next???

Daytime high temp at -13C, so not too difficult by recent standards, but for
maximum comfort, attention to outer layer Seals, Vents and Overlaps will do
the trick.

Considering the fabulous Skiing and Boarding, these are still easy Winter
Weather conditions to deal with, garment wise.
