As the Bands of Active Weather pass overhead, watching each new

All The Signs Are Adding Up To Some Great Skiing At Tremblant Today...

By yesterday’s “Last Run” it had already been snowing for about 3 hours
and there was no indication it would be stopping.

The Big, Fat Fluffy Flakes Fell, and Fell, and Fell some more...

In the interior sections of the Upper North Side, the accumulations
were not only building up at quite a rate, but by Mid-Afternoon, there
were still fresh and very sweet little undisturbed Powder Lines to be
discovered.

Below:

One of our regular indicators of Sector Quality, Trail #64 Marie-Claude Asselin.
Not always Groomed, but when it is like now, a very good sign that there’s
tons of Snow around. There can be Natural Hazards, but they are primarily
in the centre where traversing traffic can scrape snow off over the course of
time. This pic. shows the right side as you would descend over, and if you’re a
Skier that can do “Old School” short radius "Stem Christie” skidded parallel turns,
you can ski this whole right edge without so much as a twig to be found in the soft
buildup on the side.

The Base under the Groomed Trails is so well established and of such pure
compacted snow that there is very little in the way of difference in either the
performance or the smoothness from First Tracks to Last Run. Cosmetically,
by the end of the day, most of the Corduroy Lines are gone, but the surfaces
still Carve and Shred the very same way for really amazing All-Day durability.

With some added fresh snow, and depending slightly on how that snow
has been deposited by wind direction and drifting, todays surfaces may
show zones of tracked and variable thickness. Completely understandable
when you see this “Last Run” scene on Nansen.

- 6 Cm’s Of New, Fresh, Cold Formed, Light, Dry, Powder Snow...

- 100% Open Terrain...

- Warmest day in a Month @ -4C !....

It all Adds Up To Some Great Skiing and Boarding At Tremblant Today!

Weather Notes:

Overcast now, maybe some sunny breaks later, Moderate Sou-West Winds crossing
the Summit from the Soleil Sector towards Lowell Thomas.

More Snow, debatable how much, but at least “Flurries”.

Another Cold Night tonight @ -25 C, but looks like a one night event
as temps are forecasted to trend up over next few.

The Cool Overnight may render out some really exceptional Cryogenic
High Performance Snow for tomorrow. Plan for it if you can.

Conditions Notes:

Quit Looking At The ‘Puter and GO!

------ Short Tremblant360 Reader Utility Notice. ------

Why We Frequently Photograph In Many Of The Same Locations:

It would be impossible for one person to cover and document the 4 corners
and all points therein, of Tremblant’s vast amount of Terrain and Trail Network
every single day. So, over the seasons we have identified key areas that reflect
not only the typical conditions, but the sensitivities to Weather and Wear factors
that are common to average Trail or Sector status.

The value of doing that is that both we, and any regular readers or trip planning
researchers can observe Trends. Those “Trends” might be from day to day, week
to week, month to month or year to year, depending on the frame of reference
required by the individual. What makes that practical for Tremblant360.com
readers is the dated “Index” that allows any level of examination in either
sequential days or comparative blocks of the same time within any season
using common locational denominators. “Trends” best appear as “Trends” when
the comparisons have some basic common element, like location, so if Trail “X”
looked a particular way a week ago, looking at Trail “X” today allows both
us and you to see the “trends” as they evolve. That would not be possible
nor the reports as meaningful, if the pic’s were randomly different all the time.

An additional challenge we face is that you may be a regular reader or this
may be the first time you’ve ever seen this site and you’ve never been to
Tremblant before, so how do we balance the different needs and/or perceptions
of those opposite ranges of Tremblant Experience?

Taking your “Pulse” repeatedly at your wrist to determine optimum Heart-rate for
participating in a Marathon is not a matter of Boredom, it is a valuable diagnostic
component in the pursuit of careful monitoring of your personal Health. Taking the
“Pulse” repeatedly at specific locations in Tremblant’s Winter Alpine Snow Sport
Terrain is not a matter of Boredom either, it's a valuable tool in identifying trends
in the health of the Mountain’s Conditions.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
