3/20/15 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

96(*) Open Trails on the Warm Like Spring, 4 Sides of #Tremblant!

Warm Like Spring, Daytime High Temp @ +2C at South Resort Base, but
with the Cooler Elevation Differential, the whole Mountain should remain
ever-so-slightly Sub-Zero.

This could be the kind of day that defines what “Spring Skiing” should be.
Super Easy Temps, Super Easy Surfaces, Spectacular Scenery, all of which is
spread over 100% of Tremblant’s Totally Open Trail Network.

You will have to excuse our enthusiasm(A), but it’s almost unbelievable to think
there could be this much Excellent Terrain Open at this level of Quality on this
date, and furthermore, how much sharper the appreciation of that realization
becomes when at least statistically, our Planet is headed towards warmer
ambient levels. We may never see such a Season as this again.

In Yesterday’s Report we asked... "How Good Are the Conditions At Tremblant?”,
attached to this Info. Crew Snap Shot we’re including here again...

"How Good Are The Conditions At Tremblant?”, Continued...

Today, we’re going to let this very same person answer that Question, not with
words though, but with unmistakeable looks that instantly convey the only
possible interpretation... the pure joy of High Performance Excellence.

(The following two shots are completely unplanned and spontaneous. They are
of the same “?” Info. Crew person above, taken less than a minute before, as he
was descending on Johannsen. We were between 60 to 80 metres away, using
roughly 800 to 1000 mm of Zoomed in Telephoto. They were not on our primary
pic. processing list, but when we finally got to them, it was a “no brainer” for
their use in thematic continuity today.)

The Looks Say It All!

But that’s not all... earlier this week we had captured this same look with this one we’re repeating to make the point...

The bottom line on all this is that it’s not just our enthusiasm, it’s the look you see
on the faces of just about everyone who’s lucky enough to be sharing these extraordinary
conditions at Tremblant right now. We’re just lucky enough as amateur photographers
to occasionally be in the right place at the right time to capture those looks and
add them to this record.

What we hope is that it will motivate you to get out and experience all this for
yourself. You won’t be able to get the smile off your face ’til you fall asleep tonight,
and even then, you’ll be dreaming of the endless sweet turns of your day.

You will have to excuse our enthusiasm(B), but enthusiasm for todays outstanding
conditions is to a large part, due to the perspective of our very early experience,
way back in the 20th Century, when having these kinds of Surface Qualities was
unimaginable. Maybe, there were a few trails that somehow had the smoothness you
can find today on 95% of every single Groomed Trail at Tremblant. The work done by
Tremblant Mountain Crews over Mother Natures Winter Gifts this Season is a truly
exceptional combination, and is worthy of every effort you can make to participate.

We’d be very happy for History to prove us wrong... but it’s a hugely important point
needing repetition, the odds are that we may never see a Season quite like this again.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
