Today At Tremblant was clinically, categorically and confirmed, the...

And... Pay Attention to this... Tomorrow Could be even better!
Sunny, Mild Temps ending up at -4 C, another night of Grooming refinement
Maybe, Maybe, one, two, three New Open Trails???
Can you get the day off??? If so, pack up the vehicle tonight...

The Carving Grip on these Groomed surfaces was practically flawless.
There were a few little glitches, a few sticks, a few stones, but very very few.

No doubt, it was “Cool” out to begin with, but it did warm up and just like
yesterday, riding up the Soleil Sector Quad with the wind and the sun at your back,
you could actually feel “Warm” coming through on your shoulders/back.

We’re leaving the “Big Picture” Panoramic for the end of this Apres Ski Update because
by comparing that to the lead pic. in the Orig. Post that’s right below, you can see
Lac Tremblant Flash Froze last night @ -31 C in calm winds.

Above:
Consider this Newly Frozen(First Time This Season), This Morning For “After”, and
the lead pic. in the Original Post Below, “Before”, to see what an -31C overnight
low with calm winds does...

-31 C is “Cool" for sure, but “Layers” work best for successfully handling that.

Temps forecasted to rise to -12 C by just after lunch, so again, “Layers”
work best, and... there’s all-day Sunshine expected too!

The one thing yesterdays weather forecast got really wrong was the
wind component. Instead of Moderate falling to light Westerly’s,
the actual wind was Strong, Gusty and from the North... however...

Yesterdays Sunshine had enough energy in it to actually be felt as “Warmth”
on the ride up the Soleil Sectors High Speed Detachable Quad Chairlift. A very
pleasant surprise when you were feeling a bit chilly from other lift accents.

Rides up the Gondola were warm too, with full cabins, people heat and the sun
blazing in kept the ride up well within the comfort zone.

Today should be exactly the same.

You don’t notice the Cool so much when...

The Skiing/Boarding is so superb on the Groomed Open Terrain.

For Experts:

In our opinion, nothing beats the satin smooth performance characteristics of
Cryogenic Snow. Absent of any internal humidity, this super cool snow carves
with amazing lateral hold capability and you can virtually stand sideways on Skis
or Board for turn after turn of reliable grip that can render your quad muscles into
jello sooner or later, depending on your fitness level.

The thrills of so much outright turning grip are not really describable in any
meaningful way to to non-Skier/Boarders, but to those with the skills, you
know exactly what we mean and at Tremblant, you can do it all day long
if you have the endurance.

For Beginners and Intermediates:

One of the most remarkable attributes of this snow is it’s ease of surface
flexibility to either side-slip with very little resistance, or hold the edge
of beginners who are just learning to experiment with edge-set for braking,
steering or turning techniques. This is Excellent Snow to learn on. Not too
sticky, not too slick, it has all the desirable qualities of “Easy”, particularly
when combined with an appropriate Terrain selection of gentle pitch such as
Nansen’s Green side, or P’tit Bonheur for those just starting out in Winter Alpine
Snow Sports. For Intermediates with basic Stopping, Steering, Turning techniques,
this snow is near ideal for progressively increasing Trail challenge while still being
able to maintain absolute safe control with very reliable grip at moderate speeds.

Not only was the ride up the Soleil Quad Easy with a little Solar Energy Support...
but the Skiing on Toboggan is very fine, so time well spent exploring this
favourite Sector trail.

More later as time permits.... but go if you can... as soon as you can...
these are great conditions worth running away from home for.

Progressive page assembly... however, we hope it’s easy to see how
enthusiasm is a natural consequence of very fine conditions, particularly
when now blessed with such an abundance of natural snow after what
seems like a long start this season.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
