T360 Apres Ski Edit @ 10:30 P.M.

Mother Nature Shines her Light Upon P’tit Bonheur and says:

You Shall Be As Close To Perfect As I Will Allow Humans To Make You.

(**)A “Halo”, from Greek Halos, also known as a Nimbus, Icebow, or Gloriole
is an Atmospheric Optical Phenomenon produced by light interacting with Ice
Crystals suspended in the atmosphere resulting in a wide variety of coloured
or white rings, arcs, and spots in the sky. Info.Credit.Wiki

There were Trails at Tremblant today that arguably, may have been
“Best Of Season” ...these Apres Ski Pic's are Samples.

We’d be willing to make a small wager that if you start at First Tracks...
You’re gunna run outta’ Muscle Way, way, way before you run outta’ Tremblant!

When it comes to “Ideal”, “Perfect”, "Just Right”, “Best Of”... or any other
descriptives conveying a situation judged to be impossible to improve on...
those value judgements are probably going to be Subjective within the
tastes or preferences of those judging. We are “Front Side Carvers” as
Ski Magazine might describe those who prefer Groomed Trails, so the
conditions we have today are very close to “Ideal” for not only us, but all
the others here today that could be heard “Whoooping” and Singing Out
with all manner of Holler’s, Yelp’s, Screams of Delight, and various other
forms of Verbally Expressed Happiness!

Tomorrow’s Weather starts out with the Overnight Low at -5 C, with
a forecasted Zero C at South, Resort Base Level. Light to Moderate
North Winds and SUNNY!

A better, Slightly milder version of Today, but with the added benefit of
another night’s Grooming for a potential refinement level above and beyond
todays already Excellent!

If it turns out the way forecasted... Yesterday X 2!!!

Yesterday was a great day with selective Very High Points of Open Groomed
Trail Excellence and there’s every good reason to think today should be close
to identical, in both conditions and weather factors.

As far as Conditions, we found an entire range of surface quality starting
with a lot of super smooth “Excellent” in the Groomed, and some “Froze Solid”
moguls in the Un-groomed that were almost 100% coverage, but a tough
workout to navigate with no cushion of softness.

Some of the Groomed have responded very well to the incremental refinements
of overnight maintenance and those zones may be approaching “Best Of Season”
for Smoothness and Traction.

We think with the Stable overnight Sub-Zero’s many of those areas will
retain that “Best Of” status, and if anything, that list may expand.
Sissy Schuss Haut, Upper is a really good example. Quite Close to Flawless
with outstanding Carving Traction. Nansen and Alpine were other good examples.

For anyone down or over in “Urbanland” at “Yourtown”, that’s looking at
a green lawn every time you walk out the front door, causing you to
wonder "if Tremblant has any snow?”, we offer this “Proof Of Snowpack”.

“Snowpack” being defined for our purposes, as the ambient natural snowfall
accumulation existing Off-Trail, in the bush, today, right now, as an indicator
of overall Winter Conditions.

We are happy to disprove any “Sheets of Ice” feedback on Expo.

Yesterday’s Overheard Chairlift banter included some references to Expo
being “A Sheet Of Ice”...

The Skier pictured below on Expo’s Frontal Pitch is clearly shredding a great
deal of snow into the air and while he likely has the Sharp Edges required to
do that, if it truly was “A Sheet Of Ice”, there would be no Shredded airborne
snow trailing off the way this pic. shows.

One our “Pet Peeves” is the unfair criticism that Expert Trails may get from
users who are Not Experts and the ironic thing about this pic. is that those
were the words we overheard being used by two people riding up on the
same chair as we snapped the pic.!

Of course there are some icy bits, after all, we did go from +8 C to -16C overnight,
so some “Icy” is in the mix, but Mountain Crews are doing a fantastic job of
Grooming. Every night, the quality of Loose top layers is improving in scope
and depth.

Sweet Spots Everywhere you go...
Some Icy Bits too, but the Excellence of the vast majority is
Overwhelmingly Positive!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
