12/23/16 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

67(*) Open Trails on Nord, North, Sud, South, and Soleil Sectors at #Tremblant.

This Should Give You A Good Idea Of Tremblant Conditions:

Primarily, Beautiful Natural Snowfall, Groomed By The Best Crew In Eastern Canada.

Above/Below is a 2 Shot Telemark Sequence on the Mid-Sections of Versant Nord,
the North Side’s P’tit Bonheur. Up/Down, and all around, this Snow is the most recent
Natural Accumulation and it is fairly evenly spread over Tremblant due to the relatively
light winds that were not blowing at velocities high enough to either move it off wide
open trail surfaces or favour North or South sectors unduly.

In our experience, the traction and control capabilities of both Versant Sud, South
and Nord, North, were comparatively equal, however there are some individually
occurring glitches in the form of hazards/slick/icy bits where previous wind or traffic
wear factors have affected the substates or hazard exposures. They are very small
within the vast Open Groomed Terrain, and realistically speaking, once you identify
the Mountains daily use patterns, quite easy to anticipate or avoid. The secret is to
explore with reasonable caution on first passages, before you go blasting around.

With another Overnight Grooming cycle, we would expect that some of the softness
in yesterdays snow may be compressed to the point of “faster” today, notwithstanding
todays close to Zero C Temp.s. But... as Guests check in to the Resort and surrounds
for the Holidays, additional traffic may generate new use patterns, so we still think care
with speed and navigation are appropriate BOTH at the beginning of each new day, and
when you are Skiing or Snowboarding trails you have not recently been on, during this
busy Holiday Season.

This Might Give You A Partial Idea Of the Weather at Tremblant...

The Weather Forecast did say there would be a Sliver of Sunshine yesterday!
And what you see above, just about fits that bill. For the most part though, it
was a Gloriously Snowy Grey Winter Day, the kind of Winter Day that immerses
you in Snowy embrace, the kind of Grey Winter Day that only enthusiastic
Skiers and Snowboarders would call “Glorious”, just because of their appreciation
for what it means for conditions.

Will the Snow Ever Stop?

Good Question....

The way it looks now, maybe at the end of April?

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
