T360 Middle of the Night Shift Apres Ski Edit @ 4:00 A.M. EST:

Conditions Samples du Jour:

McCulloch Continues to be a Versant Sud, South Side, Primary Trail
and it’s recent Race Course Preparation is the biggest factor in it’s now
Smooth and Durable Performance.

Versant Soleil Toboggan has surfaces that are still completely
Wall-to-wall Snow, although the extreme softness of the lower
elevations is very heavy to turn in and requires Muscle and Finesse
simultaneously in order to keep Speed in check for safe control.

Beauvallon has the same soft snow, but for Experts, great wide spacing
between moguls allows wide traverses and for the very Athletic Skiers/Boarders,
Air Turns off the shallow moguls are easy fun and a most effective way to avoid
some of the worst stickiness.

As Usual... P’tit Bonheur has Smoothness over its entire descent, although
by the end of the day it’s surface is quite soft and needs a touch of speed to
overcome some of the resistance of Top Layer thickness.

Marie Claude Asselin Has Been Near-Flawless for over two weeks
and is still one of our leading references for Stable, Deep, Versant Nord,
North Side Trail Standards of Excellence. There is one section of bareness
on the lowest pitch, but there is also plenty of room to go Left or Right
around it, so with it’s basic Smoothness intact, still “easy” and still Beautiful!

We Expect Today To Be The Same,
A Little of “This” and A Little of “That”...

Of Course... The backgrounds look a lot different with
Today’s Spring Conditions, BUT... both these pic’s are within
the last two weeks, so...

The Function Is Largely The Same!!!

Subject To All Applicable “Spring” Related Factors,
Clinically, and Practically Speaking...
Within the Safely Selected Open Terrain, we have Very Fine
Conditions across all Skill Levels of Green’s, Blue’s, and
Black Rated Trails.

Other Benefits:

Mid-Work-Week, Mid-April Ski/Board Traffic Is Light... No Lines...

Mid-Work-Week, Mid-April Ski/Board Traffic Is Light... Very Little Trail Wear...

End Of Season Days Are Always A Good Bet For Uncrowded Slopes!

In Other Current Tremblant Performance/Trail News...

The easy “Speed” has been back in Surfaces.
We Like That... and we hope it is exactly the same today.

The functional capability to have Quick Glide across
surfaces is most useful for traversing Plateau’s
and/or shallow contours, but it also facilitates
learning that is enhanced by easily controlled
forward momentum. Control moves of Braking,
Stopping, and Turning, are all easier with low
friction and good edging. That was all there at
Last Run Yesterday.

Basically, there are two types of trails that are going
to make it through to “Last Run” for the Season...

Those that have enough Natural Snow and Frost Reserve...
(example Versant Nord, North Trail #65, Banzai, as previously
reviewed.)

Those that have enough Supplemented Snow Reserves...
Sud, South Side McCulloch is a great example of a Trail
that has Seasonally Excellent Conditions because it was
upgraded to be a Race Course last weekend.

Below: This was McCulloch 5 Days Ago...

The Benefit is we get to use it now.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
