The Newly falling Snow has so far been an exact extension
the same light, dry, powder Snow that has been falling since
yesterday.

The New Snow has Excellent Edge-Set, Speed and Glide.

It could be argued that it is within the top 5 Carving Days
of the season, perhaps considering the 100% Open, maybe
even the Best Carving Day of the Season.

Tomorrow... Starts @ -16C, rising to -9C after lunch under
partially sunny sky. Moderate West Winds, swinging around to
Sou-West in the Afternoon.

Incrementally Advanced Overnight Groomed Base Quality.
We expect the current performance of speed and glide
to be virtually the same for tomorrow.

Just One Example Of The Jewels In The Current Tremblant Crown...

4 Kilometres Of Very Close To Perfect.

Even Experts could have fun and benefit from Algonquin.
Just try 4Km’s of continuous Slalom Carves. That’s exercise
that can turn the Quad Muscles of almost ANY Skier into Jello.

How Many Ski Days Have You Had When You
Could Make 4 Kilometres Worth Of “We Lost Count
Of The Number Of Turns” you could do, on a 20cm’s
Carpet of Fresh Powder over an Immaculately
Groomed Trail Base, Completely Uninterrupted by
So Much As A Single Snowflake Out Of Place?

Yesterday was one of them, right here at Tremblant.

There is Extraordinary Beauty on every scale you can
imagine.
From the Wide Open Spaces of Algonquin
pictured above, to the Intimate Nooks of Versant Nord,
North Side 1948 Original T-Bar Lift-Lines, where you can
find absolutely Perfect Fall-Line Descents(now widened, and
frequently Groomed as Smooth and as Flat as a Billiard Table),
Tremblant does indeed have something for everyone.

There Are Skill Testing Zones at Tremblant to Challenge
even the most serious Levels of Experts who come here
from Around The Country and Around The World.

Trail Conditions Case Study, #18 Versant Sud,
South Side, “McCulloch”.

The Snow that Fell All Day...

Was Light, Dry, Fast, and in accumulated depths, almost
“Transparent” underfoot due to the very fluffy looseness
that was just enough to give a “Floating” sensation,
but with almost zero resistance to either forward or
lateral motion. Some Rapid Snowfall can generate thickness
that can catch an edge or make directional changes
more difficult, but not this stuff, it’s almost “Invisible” in feel
and consequently, super-easy to execute any style of turning
without any drag whatsoever.

Looking at the displaced Snow in the above McCulloch Upper Pitch,
one might imagine some thickness in the feel of turn execution,
but that was not the case, as in our experience, it felt more like
turning through Dust. For sure you could feel it all there, it just
never created any significant drag as you floated through it.

Conditions Notes:

We anticipate an upward escalation in Groomed Terrain Surface Density
today with the overnight Grooming and furthermore, we think it’s
quite likely to see incremental refinements over larger and larger
tracts of Groomed Trails for the next several days and/or weeks.
Looking at the 14 day Long Range Weather Forecast below shows
consistently Sub-Zero’s and even the one day of “Warm”, projected
for a week from now, is only warm at Sud, South Resort Base Level,
so at Cooler Mountain Elevations, it is possible there will be Pure Winter,
Sub-ZeroC Conditions for the entire period.

The Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade and Un-Groomed are all
developing very nicely and while Natural Hazards can always
happen, the rate of coverage has reduced the risks. As Usual
though, Care and Caution on all Un-groomed and Sous Bois(bush)
Terrain is mandatory for safe passage.

This is the Fullness Of Seasonal Maturity. The combination of
all converging factors of pre-existing and future Excellence at
Tremblant now is why we reply “Early To Mid-Feb.” when we
get asked about “Ideal” with regard to “Winter” and “Skiing”.

Please Note: Sorry for the lack of variety in fresh pic’s.
Some of todays Photos are Alternate POV’s of Last nights
Apres Ski mostly because it was Snowing so much any Photography
was challenged by simply trying to keep Snow out of the Lens.
We call that a “Happy Problem” when Super-Snowy, Great Skiing
conditions make for difficult pic’s, so hopefully, some “Sunny” over
the next few days will change that around.

Thanks for your visit!

We hope to see you on the Slopes. As the
Season matures to this level of Terrain
Refinement, Tremblant is totally worthy
of every ounce of effort you can make to
get here. There is no substitute for attendance
and the rewards are not easily put into words,
but for sure, as we approach Valentines Day,
February at Tremblant is always a “Sweetheart”
Month to be savoured with enjoyment.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
