Possible POWDER DAY ALERT below, but first...

Has anyone noticed that the days seem to be getting longer?

O.K., so the shortest day of the year was only yesterday,
but we are Officially in Winter now, and it sure feels great!

30 runs open this morning as we are holding our own with
the forces of Mother Nature who has blessed us with more
than adequate cool winter temps to not only hang onto all
of the fresh snow she sent us a week ago, but facilitate a
great week of Snow Making production all over our Mountain.

The "Long" and the "Short" of it is that today is going to be
another fantastic day of early season super carving conditions!

Our weather this morning starts and pretty much stays with
temp's at around -16C, or -3F, with a gradual warming trend
that will occur later on in the day after the lifts close, but the
nicest feature in todays forecast is the possibility of up to 5 cm
of new, fresh snow. (Note: this is not the Powder Day Alert
referred to above, you'll have to scroll down for that) This new
snow is forecasted to commence late morning, so time will tell,
and we'll record any amounts we get as it happens. If this
predicted little dusting occurs, it will be icing on the cake
for the existing open terrain, but it sure would be nice if the
amount that fell was greater to help contribute to coverage
that could mean more open runs... we'll just have to wait and see.

The winds could be from moderate to brisk at between 10 to 16 Km,
predicted to be from the North-West, or moving across the Mountain
from the Nansen sector. As usual for the the temp range we have today,
you will want to secure all the air gaps around your neck and wrists
to keep a tight seal for maximum comfort.

Mountain Crews have been working all night to prepare our surfaces for today as we see them put the finishing touches on the Mountain as sunrise approaches.

Guests at the Resort enjoy the "First Tracks" program as the
Gondola gets set to upload Skiers and Boarders to the Summit
for some earlybird runs on the North Side. Nice to see such a
good crowd out to take advantage of the immaculate surfaces
we'll have this morning.
