Winter! ...How many ways do we love Winter!

Well, at least 2 more than yesterday as the open trail count increases to 52,
with more on the way and up to 65 promised for the weekend.

The really big news in this department is that Taschereau is scheduled
for opening today!

You can check out our Blog Trail Review on Tascherau here:

Mountain Crews finishing up the Night Shift, working on that perfect corduroy! While this file is labeled "Finishing Touches on Soleil", the "Open Trail" listing also tells us Taschereau is coming on line today, so we can expect a fine surface of corduroy there as well.

The Weather this morning is forecasted to begin with a frosty -25C
that will dramatically rise to a more easily manageable -11C under partly
sunny skies, however, this rise in temperatures today is forecasted to occur
later on in the afternoon, so we will not likely see much above -15C or so
during open hours on the Mountain today. The wind is moderately high at
around the 25 Km mark and is pretty much Westerly, or coming up the
Mountain on Beauvallon/ McCulloch. If you are riding the TGV Quad Chair,
the wind should be at your back and if you are riding up the Duncan Quad
Chair or the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair, you may find things a bit gusty as
you reach the Summit, so be sure to keep critical air seals around Head,
Neck and Wrists tight for maximum comfort.

The Weather coming up for the next few days is forecasted to see very
pleasant, just sub-zero C days, that's in the mid-twenties F, so it should
be very nice and easy to dress for.

There is SNOW in the forecast! Wow, wouldn't that be Great!
Of course, we'll be watching that like a hawk, so stay tuned.

RE: Official Printable Trails and Lifts Report
Once again, we say that this excellent document shown below, is
listed as a printable attachment to the "OFFICIAL" Snow Report found at
http://www.tremblant.ca It is a great way to review the development
of the open terrain. The First 2 columns show the coloured skill level
symbol, followed by the run name. Explanation of the 3 status columns:
The First Column is tick marked for runs open. A Flag icon in the first
column indicates the run has a Race course set on it. An "up" or “down"
arrow in the first column indicates that the top or bottom portion of
the run is open. An "hourglass" icon indicates that the runs opening
is "Progressive", which can mean either gradual or delayed opening.
The second column shows runs with Snow Making. If there is a crescent
moon shape in the second column, it means Snow Making is being done
at night. The Boxed No.1 symbol in the second column means that is a
"First Tracks" program Open Run. The third column shows runs with Grooming.
You will note that both Snow Making and Grooming can be shown on runs that
are not open yet, this indicates the preparation of terrain that may be opened
soon. The wavy icon in the third column indicates that run has natural
undergrowth and is typically associated with Glade runs that may not
be groom-able.
