2/8/23 #Tremblant Conditions

T360 Late Eve. Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct @ 10:47 P.M.

All-Day Winter.

We called for a winter conditions favourable below zero C,
lower than the ground levels that hovered around Zero C.

The Sous Bois/Bush zones do have variable difficulty challenge,
but certainly with the confirmation inherent in 102/102 Open
trails, there is obviously adequate coverage to achieve safety.
Genuine Expert skills are required though, as some zones are
on the low scale of forgiveness due to natural hazards that the
Ski Patrol have clearly hand posted.

The groomed ski conditions are very fine to excellent across all
ranges of Green, Blue and Black skill level terrain.

All four compass-point corners of Tremblant’s elevated
trail network remained within this fully white winter envelop,
from side-to-side, and top-to-bottom.

The current hourly forecast for tomorrow suggests we
could end up with a functional copy of today, so we
think with an overnight low that could see -13 C over
the Mountain, there will be sufficient chill in the hill
to perpetuate another winter performance day before
some warmer/wetter stuff seams ready to move in for Friday.

Due to wind-shaped drifting over Mountain contours
Tremblant’s Edge Sector has gotten very favourable
snowfall accumulations. If you are an authentic, genuine,
legitimate Expert, the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades in
this zone should still have some fresh powder lines.
You may have to range outward a bit, but our Sous Bois
friends tell us that they can still be found.

We expect to see development work begin in the near future
on Flying Mile in preparation for the Feb 27/28, March 1/2
Nor-Am Race Event that is the test run for next seasons planned
FIS Women’s World Cup, Giant Slalom race here at Tremblant.

It is our opinion that Women’s G/S is arguably the finest
technical Alpine Skiing known on Earth, and furthermore,
the best, most successful competition Alpine Skier of all
time, Mikaela Shiffrin, will be competing here at Tremblant,
along with Valérie Grenier, from St. Isidore, Ontario, who
is a Tremblant Race Club member and the first World Cup
GS winner(Jan. 7, 2023) by a Canadian in 49 years.

Conditions Notes:

There should be lingering carry-over effects
from all the recent cold exposures that got
down to -38 C and we expect what we would
call that “Thermal Momentum” to last all day at
Tremblant today, and to be applicable to all trail
types and skill levels of the fully open Mountain.

If there is any softening, we think it would
only be evident on the lower elevations of the
Versant Sud/South Side Resort Base levels,
depending on the solar energy intensity.
Otherwise, we hope/forecast that the typical
-4 C elevation differential prevails over the rest
of the trail network.

(Please Note: There is a glitch in the snowfall total which should
be at 434 cm’s as indicated in the 2.6.23 Official trail data.
One reason that is important is that it just happens to be the exact
marking point of the 25 year seasonal average total snowfall.)
