Overcast, Mild, And Very Gentle Winter(#)...

Like This, But Without The Shadow... maybe...

Weather Notes:

(#) The reason we say very gentle winter in the opening line
is that on a day where the temps cross over Zero C, we
are actually glad to have the overcast part because it will
act as an umbrella to protect snow surfaces from thaw
factors that could be significantly magnified with solar
energy otherwise.

The reason we say “maybe”, is that this system is moving
from West-to-East and there is a sunny gap in the overcast
that is migrating towards Tremblant that could arrive early... maybe.

--------------- 12:25 P.M. Insert Update: -----------------

Please Note:
Very advantageous -7 C(compared to usual -4 C), Summit-To-Base
elevation differential for retaining winter type conditions.

Conditions Notes:

As noted with these weather factors crossing over
Zero C, there may be possibilities of softening but
we think that will be more humidity related than
outright thermally induced.

The groomed array should be nothing short of
fabulously smooth, and the connectivity between
the skill levels should be seamless. This should
allow for easy progression in upward challenge
that will facilitate very quickly advancing learning
curves, especially for Beginners and Intermediates
aspiring to get better.

Additionally, the cold side of convection where “cold sinks”
should generate a top-down wash of surface air drafting
because the -21C of the night before last, less than 24 hours
ago, is still being released. Consequently we think the net
effect should be to preserve winter-like skiing performance
for the entire day toady.

Experts are going to find an almost endless variety
for all styles of top level challenge and technique.

If there is a tangible degree of surface softening,
the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed
could have significantly enhanced performance
control with a little bit of surface tension. Basically,
a little bit of soft surface friction makes steeper
challenges a lot easier which is a very useful control
factor, especially in the Sous Bois where “trees” exist
within open descent zones.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
