---------- T360 Middle Of The Night Shift Apres Ski @ 1:57 A.M. ----------------

A Somewhat Foggy, But Still Great Day!

The cloud ceiling was hovering around the Summit,
occasionally reaching down a bit, but the mid to lower
elevations were primarily clear, obviously grey overcast,
but good enough for forward scanning safety.

Surfaces were all very skiable, however on some of the
newly opened trails there were noticeably high ratios
of ground up base particles blended into the new snow.
That will all be assimilated with both traffic and additional
more new snow.

In the mean-time...

here’s what we did all day.

Big, maybe really big, big snowfall tomorrow
so the whole situation will be highly evolutionary,
but starting from “great”.

Please Note: Informed sources tell us it may a busy
Saturday with a combination of U.S. holiday and
attending convention traffic. Patience is a virtue.

Impressive, Extraordinarily Fine Conditions

Are Every Good Reason To...

Make Tremblant Your Tradition.

It is our honour to meet folks from all over the world
and with their permission, post a glimpse of their personal
Tremblant story, so we were happy and grateful to meet
these folks from N.J. on the latest edition of their 25 year
tradition, and on top on top of that...

Toboggan was in the best shape of the season so-far
without so much as single glitch we could find from
side-to-side and top-to-bottom!

Even the wide open spaces were impressively fine
and we expect that to be a carry-over for today.

Weather Notes:

2 Days Of “Easy”, Followed By 4 Days Of “KKkkool”.

It is what it is, and if we had to make a choice between
too warm, or too cool, we’d choose cool every time.
Authentic winter snow, supported by extended periods
of sustained, uninterrupted Sub-Zero C’s, is absolutely
the finest Eastern ski scenario possible.

Additionally...
Every day of winter cold injection is a day of spring heat rejection.

Conditions Notes:

Please Note: Friday’s can be a bit of a wild card for long weekend
traffic, if it gets busier by end of day don’t be surprised, be patient.

In The Groomed:

The regularly scheduled annual snowmaking program
is now finished. There has been an obviously big push
in that department, but now the efforts swing towards
refinement and starting yesterday, that’s where we
forecast we’re going to see very good, become very fine
and on up to excellent over the course of near-future.

Yesterdays groomed conditions were remarkably fine in
an overall sense as the previous icy/slick bits seemed to
have finally been rendered out, so the lateral turning
traction was very noticeably more universal to the point
that there was virtually total reliability without risk of
slippage in committed high energy grip, everywhere.

There is still a tiny bit of friction in the newly falling snow
but for the most part that’s actually an asset for speed
control on steeper pitches. Chances are you’ll never notice
it beyond the notion that control seems “easy”.

These conditions continue to be close to ideal for learning
and skills development with high degrees of forgiveness
in the surfaces that have slippage when you need it, which
means less chance of catching and edge or tripping you up.

It is absolutely a great time to try a bit more challenge with
reduced risk.

If there was one carry-over yesterday it was in the slightly
but very shallow bump contours left over from the softness
of the big snowfall that was not completely compacted out.
You only felt that at higher speeds though and we forecast
that with another overnight grooming cycle, a lot of that
soft loft will be packed level and smooth for today.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Yipeeee! More Snow, More Expert Fun!

Generally the Sous Bois is very fine. The popular zones
do get tracked out quickly, but there’s still a decent
reserve and if you range out a bit, there are still fresh
lines.

The Sous Bois is never without some forms of natural
hazard, so all the usual caveats apply. Explore responsibly
and keep speed in the trees slow.
