Day 3 Of 3.
The Last Day Of The Big Chill.
The Very Best Way To Get On Top Of The Situation...
1.22.25.Sud.South.Gondola.Warm.Ride.Up.a.jpg
Weather Notes:
Please Note:
Under the word “Mont” in the right hand chart graphic below, you
will see that the temp at the elevated collection point is -29C.
That is consistent will the reading we’re getting at a slightly
elevated position adjacent to the Resort, at -28 C.
That could make this the coldest morning of the season, so-far.
Thank goodness it’s the last day of this big chill, warmer air
masses are projected to move in from the West overnight.

Conditions Notes:
Generally:
A complete carry-over of the past 2 days.
Please review previous 2 days of Conditions
Notes for additional context.
In The Groomed:
Technical excellence across all freshly groomed
surfaces with a high degree of universal consistency
due to the number of days of groomed refinement
since the last big snowfall, together with the very
light traffic loads that are common with this extreme
weather profile.
It is exactly that weather profile that generates the
most significant physical challenge of staying safely
warm enough to experience the clinically fine skiing.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Very good to excellent with continued very individualistic
levels of challenge. The slightly elevated friction common
in very cold snow typically makes control seem easier with
steeper slopes, but the offset there is that some natural
hazards are not visible from above, so you still need to keep
gravity in check with slow speeds and very deliberately
cautious line-of-sight navigation where you are capable
of virtually instantaneous stops, pivots, jumps, turns or
any other manner of course corrections.
------------ Conditions Caveats: --------------
Extreme Cold Weather Advisory.
Start With Zero Exposed Skin. Frostbite can occur in seconds,
especially with forward descent velocity. To avoid skin damage
and pain, every single square cm of skin needs to be covered.
Do not ignore painful fingers or toes. If it hurts but you stay
outside anyway and then the pain goes away, you are at very
high risk for nerve damage.
Avoid taking little children outdoors until you can verify safe
exposures.
Take frequent indoor warming breaks, and consider a later start
when temps are forecast to rise.
