A Very Important Seasonal Snowfall Accumulation Marker @ 300cm's:
We Can Tell You For A Fact That There Are Open Sous Bois
Drifting Contours Of Over 1 Meter Of Fresh, Untracked Powder Snow.
Your Expert Mission Is To Explore Responsibly To Find Them.
For Scale Reference:
The Skis Are Atomic SL’s @ 160 cm’s.
The Poles Are Kerma Corrective Angle’s @ 144 cm’s.

Sorry for the highly shadowed upper Nord/North
side Proof Of Snow, but at Last Run, and with a
fair degree of overcast at that moment, the lighting
for pic’s is not ideal. The quality of the snow is
however, quite close to ideal. Light, dry and if
challenging to move through, that’s just the depth.
In the mean-time...
If you look at our Apres Ski from yesterday we reported
on the stress exerted by the wind that generated challenges
and difficulties we did not forecast. Hopefully Mountain
crews have been able to get those factors under control
for this morning, but at the same time we need to re-enforce
the fact that there were, and will always be, really great
conditions within the mix. Here below is just one sample.
Nansen is impeccably maintained.

The swirling of the vigorous wind around the conical shape
of the Mountain and its topographical contours created many
unique pockets of challenge and excellence. To a degree, that
may be a similar situation today but we do expect the scales to
tip in favour of a larger square area of groomed refinement.
All you need to do is explore cautiously to find the sectors that
best suit your skills and abilities while taking on challenge in
measured way with slow initial speeds.
Weather Notes:
If you look carefully look at the wind velocities, it
certainly promises to be a “Dynamic” day...
Then, get ready for this... a near, if not full blizzard
tonight, then back to the Polar Vortex... wow...

Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Generally very good, and with many specific improvements,
however still highly individualistic and with an ongoing
dynamic evolution generated by forecast gale-force winds.
We are going to invoke the “80/20” principle where 80%
is good and 20% has fluid challenge that can change in
unique difficulty.
A big example that we have actual first tracks reporting
on is Nord/North P’tit Bonheur that had lateral washboard
ridges along its path yesterday. This morning is is a shining
example of its normal, impeccable smoothness from top-to-
bottom. This is exactly the kind of upgrade refinement we
expect to see in many areas.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Please review the “Proof Of Snow” enclosed.
For Experts, the quality should be obvious,
however that is not to say that the challenge
or hazards are not characteristic of patterns
of use. Irregular natural contours can generate
unique difficulty along any descent path. You
may experience rapid and/or unexpected
variations in depth or forward resistance.
