For those who embrace the challenge of cool, authentic
winter weather, the extraordinary conditions and the
magnificent scenic beauty, this is your moment.

If you’ve read any of the past journal entries here from
the extended cold periods of previous winters, you will
recall that we also refer to these conditions as “Pure Winter”.
Pure winter is when there has not been any thermal influence
for many days and when accompanied with natural snowfall,
the absence of any recent thaw results in very high ratio’s
of an undisturbed all-snow base with an overall very high
quality. In this case, it’s been weeks since there was any
warm and it shows in the wide ranging scope of currently
great conditions.

The warmer days of later winter and spring skiing will come
soon enough, and when they do, we’ll look back and miss
these very fine crisp days of the depths of winter.

Weather Notes:

If you look at the long range graphic, it’s apparent that
we’ll be experiencing the wavy lobes of Polar Vortex
influence over Tremblant this next Friday and Monday.

The forecast from that point point forward is currently
for a flip in the trending towards a consistently warmer
model into February.

----------- Supplementary Polar Vortex Weather Data: -------------

All things considered at this stage, we’d have to say
that this current wavy Polar Vortex intrusion pattern
is all quite consistent with the 24/25 annual/seasonal
forecast that we made in our “Tremblant Geographic”
section, where La Nina is a major influence for cold/snowy
ambient conditions over Eastern North America.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Very high degrees of refined quality across all
skill levels of freshly groomed. However... it is
not perfect because there are some relatively
small glitch zones left over from the big winds
of the past days.

It’s actually amazing that there are not more or
bigger glitches, the wind has been fierce, and
in some places where the topographical contours
caused it to focus, it had some erosive force
that caused the firm base to be exposed.

Repeat: Glitches are small... and we only point them
out so we won’t be accused of being unrealistic,
or not objective enough. If you have well tuned
edges you may never realize them.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Generally, more of "better and better" with every passing day.

Too cool? Not really, it just takes all your layers.

Plus...
If you take into account the stored refrigerant being
injected into the conical mass of the Mountain, every
single day of this now is a direct extension of trail
surface durability for Spring Skiing.

Forward planners, act accordingly.
