2/1/25 #Tremblant Conditions

102(*) Open Trails.

Welcome To February!

We often refer to February as the heart of winter at Tremblant.
Typically, there has been over 2 months of abundant natural
snowfall with consistent sub-zero C daily temps so the season
is very well established. Coverage is complete across all groomed
as well as Sous Bois/bush terrain with mid season depth accumulations.

Another way we express it is that the season is mature in development.

With the noticeable increase in daylight hours now there is also
better visual contrast so less shadow and more direct illumination
over all the range of slopes but without the intense solar heat and
any consequent thaw influence that will become more evident in
another month from now.

What that all adds up to is that February is a “Sweet Spot” in the
annual ski season calendar and we look forward to it each and
every year as an overall peak of genuine all-winter conditions.

Weather Notes:

Another dip in wavy Polar Vortex influence makes for a very
“Crispy” day, but with direct solar energy, there will be some
transferable heat benefit in any wind-sheltered, safe trail-side
rest breaks.

Conditions Notes:

First Official Weekend Open Hours Extended To 3:45 P.M.

Please Note:
Initial Delayed Opening Of Duncan Quad/Soleil Quad Due To
Safe Cold Weather Operational Protocols. We would expect
those to clear at or before 9:45 A.M.

In The Groomed:

Mostly very fine, however due to the softness in
the loft of the most recent snowfall, there is still
some residual tendency to build shallow moguls
with advancing daily traffic wear. We think this
will be less than yesterday with another night
shift, however its Saturday and weekend attendance
may be enough to generate similar conditions
today. As is common to cryogenic snow, there
is a slightly elevated frictional characteristic which
is a natural enhancement to ease of control on
steeper pitches. It is also an enhancement for
Beginners in the sense that builds confidence
by offsetting unwanted gravitational pull, there’s
just less potential for runaway if you are brand
new to the sport. Due to the continued cold we
expect that to be the same for today and tomorrow.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

A review of our “Proof Of Snow” pic. above tells
you everything you need to know about the raw
materials in this trail group. In the untracked fresh
lines, there is thickness from the depths. The loft
has made for soft moguls and the combination of
that softness plus the little touch of friction makes
both the bumps Hors Piste fun and easy, but due to
the aforementioned thickness, the challenges are
definitely for experienced Experts.
