102(*) Open Trails.

Super Bowl Sunday...

What usually happens is that folks seem to vaporize at noon
hour as they drag race home to set up their big screens, beer
and nacho’s for the big game. So typically, if you have the
wisdom to put the real value on skiing... it may seem as if
you have the place, and the excellent conditions, all to yourself
this afternoon.

This is only one sample of dozens of zones
of highly refined groomed trails that make
practicing your skills development easy and
effective. In this case we’re looking at Black
Diamond levels but if you’re a confident
Intermediate with a solid base of speed and
turn control moves, this is a great time to be
working up to this kind of Expert terrain.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Here are the “Stars Of The Show”, as we are in the
prime of the mature season with very well optimized
and refined trail surfaces with very close to ideal
compaction and near ice-free universal quality.

It’s generally cool, but that’s why the snow surfaces
are in such excellent overall condition. Control is
easy and forgiveness is high, all while the transitional
integration between skill levels is virtually seamless
and as a consequence, super-easy to learn in and
grow skills as you can move up in challenge with
minimal risk.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

No doubt, especially after yesterday’s weekend Saturday traffic,
very individualistic where today at 8:00 AM may be very different
than yesterday at 8:00 AM on a case-by-case basis. It did not
snow overnight so wear factors can be substantially altered
from previous.

There will be both excellence and raw challenge, sometimes
all at once.

Pay strict attention to Ski Patrol hand posted signage and
where hazards are indicated, take those warnings seriously
for personal safety and risks to equipment.

There is very good forgiveness for legitimate Experts,
but not so much for lesser skill levels because the
techniques Experts can use for for control in soft deep
bumps, can mean very unforgiving, thick tracking for
Intermediates who may not have the muscle or agility
to adapt on the fly.

Some rocky hazards are not visible from above so slow
speeds and cautious line-of-sight navigation with the
abilities to stop or pivot instantly are essential in
all explorations.

Please Note: Seasonally Adjusted Open Hours To 4:00 P.M.
