3/8/25 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

87/102(*) Open Trails.

At March 8, 2025, Tremblant360 Declaration Of

T360 Official, Statistical, Tremblant “Super Season” Status.

We define any season with an accumulation of 20% over the 30 year
total average(439 cm’s) as a “Super Season”, so at todays 531 cm’s so-far
accumulation we have now exceeded that number(527 cm’s).

PLUS... There’s Still 6 More Weeks Of Snowfall To Go!!!

The Story Behind The Headline...

The advantages of any season with 20% more than the 30 year
average totals are significant in every metric reference to quality
and durability. You’ve had that at Tremblant for months as it has
been building, and you will continue to have that for weeks on end
as we are now in the early phases of Spring.

To hit that level at March 8, with 6 weeks still to go, is extraordinary.

This alone should be every motivation you need to plan
spontaneous attendance as soon and as often as possible.

Of course... on any given day current weather circumstances
can generate individual levels of variable challenge, but on an
overall basis, there is just no substitute for tons of snow, and that
shows in virtually every aspect of the Alpine skiing experience
where all that snow makes everything better, easier and longer
lasting.

Weather Notes:

It’s currently -15C at the Summit, but on the bright side,
literally, there’s already sunny, way ahead of the forecast
at Sud/South Resort base levels.

Conditions Notes:

Generally For Today:

A) Situational awareness is critical for safety at all times.
Patterns of terrain conditions should be evident to
all who are observant and consequently, both safety
and enjoyment can be optimized with proactive
anticipation and explorations with cautious approach.
The wind has been of sufficient velocity with it’s peak
gusts to have erosive force on directly frontal facing
areas so there may be exposed portions of very firm
or icy base.

B) It’s a weekend Saturday in early March during
the traditional School Break time period. It could
be busy. Additionally, there will be a lot of mixed
skill level sharing, both up/down, so it is vital to
be patient and allow wide passing margins while
simultaneously scanning with the eyes in the back
of your head. Conditions are “Fast”, inexperienced
tourists and gravity may combine to generate
unpredictable outcomes.

In The Groomed:

There will be select excellence in the freshly groomed
that can be revealed by exploring across the range of
terrain, however there may also be some tendency to
show icy bits that are primarily associated with the
relationship between slope angle and any concentrated
traffic wear, particularly around and just below topographical
crests onto pitches.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

We would say that closures in these categories are temporary.
The base may be somewhat solid, lumpy and compacted after the
recent Mother Nature warm/wet burp, however the underlaying
cold that is still very well embedded in the substrates, as well
as the mass of the Mountain as well, should be able to support
coverage for many, many weeks. What that means to us is that the
Ski Patrol and Mountain Op’s are managing a combination of current
safety, and future conservation. We forecast that as Spring conditions
mature, most if not all of this terrain will reopen, especially as the
future softness of spring develops.

There is also substantial re-set potential in the periodic grooming
of our Nord/North diagnostic trio of trails # 64, 65, and 66, two
of which are closed, Banzai and Tunnel to be specific. Marie-Claude
Asselin is still open. These three trails respond magnificently to occasional
surfacing corrections that allow them to exist for weeks afterwards as some
of the most excellent topographically beautiful, architecturally perfect
and hazard free descent paths as they used to be “T-Bar” lift lines in 1948.
Re-setting them periodically opens them up to a X 50 greater skills range
utility and their scenery is nothing other than gorgeous.

Until any or all of these things come to pass, use very slow speeds
with immediate line-of-sight navigation to safely descend in todays
open paths where the challenge and/or hazard may not be visible
from above until you are literally on top of it.

Please Note: Bonus Weekend 1/2 hour Open Hours to 4:30

they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
