Meanwhile, up at the Summit...

Please Note:
So far... Today fits in with our 80/20 Principle where the Mountain
is 80% better than ground levels for weather utility. It may be teaming
rain down at base level, but up at the Summit we can tell you for a fact,
the conditions are far different and way less wet.
In these circumstances we are always happy to see a low cloud ceiling
because rainy tends to exist below the cloud, not so much in the cloud.
What that frequently means is that trail elevations experience mostly
foggy cloud particulate and with the trusty Descente Poncho, it’s far
easier to remain functionally dry, and tolerably comfortable.
So, Here’s All You Need For Fun Today...
Weather Notes:
For today, notwithstanding our 80/20 rule that is
currently benefitting higher trail elevations with
much drier conditions than base levels, unfortunately,
there may be periods of rain anywhere and at any time.
All you can do is be prepared with Poncho or foul weather
sailing gear, then look forward to tomorrow.
Otherwise...
All things considered with the time of the season,
the predominantly sunny and dry long range forecast,
this is actually a great outlook for Spring Skiing !
Memories Of Yesterday, Hopes For Tomorrow!
Theoretically, today is just one weird day
in the middle of a sunshine sandwich!

Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Here’s the centre of the action. Everything that’s
freshly groomed should have excellent traction
and good speed. The reality of today is that there
continues to be excellent stored refrigerant in
the conical mass of the Mountain that is going
to help ensure durable coverage for weeks.
Functionally, you need to be able to separate
conditions into two categories, surface and
atmospheric. Clinically, the surfaces are great.
Atmospherically to be practical, you have to
adapt with a sufficient shield, i.e., poncho.
Yes, there may be sectors of seasonal front
facing prevailing wind exposures that don’t
have the full depths of accumulation, and they
may be the first to show coverage reductions,
but this is a statistical “Super-Season” with
more than 20% extra natural snowfall above
the 30 year average and that means everything
should last longer, and with better quality.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Here’s where the sensitivities lie, and while the Edge Sector
is closed today, we think that’s a temporary weather thing.
However... it is the time of year we begin to see changes so
for best results plan to get out as soon as you can.
Generally:
“Dynamic” weather can mean dynamic open terrain
availability, so we may see changes in the open list
during the day.
Accordingly, respect all Ski Patrol hand posted signage
and roped off trails or zones. Your safety comes first.
----------- Archival Sous Bois/Un-Groomed Insert Update For Yesterday(3.15.25): ------------------
Please Note: We ran out of attachment limit on yesterdays posting
so we are adding this Sud/South Haut/Upper Ryan shot here that
was very kindly sent to us by one of our most trusted Sous Bois
conditions contributors. It is an important observation in relation
to the unique mix of recent weather conditions and proof of lasting
terrain coverage in this very popular trail/category.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
